Stealth Dresser Grow

what up? this is my first Stealth Grow/Journal so any advice is greatly apreciated. Here is what i got so far...

Grow Room- I picked up this old dresser at a local salvation army for $20. Brought it home and made it into my own little grow room. the dimensions on it after construction are 16" deep x 27" high x 38" long. To build this i just took out all the drawers, knocked out all the sides of them. Perminatly installed the bottom shelf face so it can not be removed, but it looks like its on. Next i made the top and middle drawer all one piece. Made my own little hinges with nails to hold the middle drawer in place. Then i attaced the top drawer to it with some hinges. Now to get into my dresser all i do is fold down the top drawer, reach inside and unlach my nails and take off the entire top and middle drawer. I sealed it all off with some Great Stuff insulation spray to make it light proof.

Lighting- Right now im just using lights that i already had. From what ive read they seem to be ok for now. Ive got a 65watt cfl outdoor flood light that puts out just about 7000 lumnes and a 14" "plant light" that i dont know any specs on. I dont have any reflective material in the dresser right now, but i plan on getting some Mylar soon. Not sure what light would be best to upgrade to when the plants need it.

Soil- Just regular old Scotts general potting soil in party Solo Cups (with slits in the bottom). I plan on transplanting them in to 3gal buckets with Fox Farm Ocean Mix once their ready

Air Flow- Just a regular small 6" fan with a clip on the end to angle it where ever. Soon i plan on installing an intake/exaust fan

Seeds- Like every stoner out there, sometimes you get a sick bag of headies that has a seed or two in it. Well ive been saving these great seeds for about a year. I germinated 9. 1 is a strain of Kush, 5 are Diesel Berry, and 3 are unknown. So im not really sure what to expect. I just know that they all came from some bomb nugs.

Plans- Since its such as small grow area, i plan on doing some LST with the plants once they are old/strong enough. From what ive read and seen about LST it seems to match up with my opperation.

Here are some pics of what i got so far. Let me know what you think, I will be updating as much as possible so stay tuned...

I know i just posted this journal today, but ive already got some changes. I just had a friend stop by to s.a.b and we got talking about my little opperation. He had grown 12, 7ft beautifull indoor plants last year that i watched grow and eventually smoked. So we started talkin bout my lighting situation. He then hits me with some of the best news ever (for me), he cant grow this year in his new apt so he had a 400watt hps with a small hood that he wants to go to good use. So he let me take it for the grow. The only thing im concerned with now is ventilation (keeping the dresser cool enough) and how large the plants are going to get now that they are going to be stretching to the night. I only have a about 16" of growing room. anything that i can do besides LST and/or topping to help them stay small and bushy? how close should this 400 watt hps be from the seedlings? they are only 3 days old...

cool tube or power vent from the top... make sure you vent in from the bottom to draw in nice fresh air and help push out the stale hot air.. not sure how the distance will effect your plant not much height if im looking at it right.. can you turn it on its end and make it taller then wider..nvm its kinda square lol after taking another looksee... keeping the bulbs away from the plants is key unless you cooltube that biotch.. grats on the lights and subscribed to see how it plays out.. check out my thread im using cfl but found a nice hps at http://www.insidesun.com 99 dollars for a refurbished 400 watt and 250 lol... gonna grab one for flowering... my best pics are at the bottom of the thread dont be fooled by my noob start ive learned alot in two months of research and reading shit on here and international sites... peace and grow big or grow mint!!!

Well its been a couple days since ive able to post somthing new. So heres an up date... The hps light that i got from my friend ended up being a 150watt hps with a reflective hood. I dont know how he got the two confused, but it happened. Now i have that 150watt hps and my 65watt cfl. The plants seem to be loving it, but they dont seem to be as mature as some other plants i see pictures of at the same age. right now they are 11 days old since they sprouted from the soil. I will post some pics later on 2night of the new setup.

im just starting my grow in a dresser but its smaller only in a drawer because i have to keep it as stealth as possible i dont have much right now but i need info about your seeds how long they sprout and do u think 1 or 2 cfls would work for one plant in one drawer?

i switched the drawer thing into a small memery box and i put a black garbage bag in the memory box and i used thumb tacs to bolt the garbage bag to the memory box (which is wood) i have 2 cfl lights on the roof of the box the box is not every good for sealing in ligth but it is better then the drawer because it is taller i will add pics very soon

Pimp: I really don't want to take over the thread (some mind, some don't, so I apologize a head of time sabv).

no offense bra but the 13's are a bit weak- the equvilent doesn't really mean much. Also for veggin you want 6500k (Daylight) your 2700s would be a good supplement when you flower.

I would be confident in putting 2- 26 watters for the time being, obviously the more light the better but that will do until you can get more. In fact, I went to the local store the other day and got a 2 pack of 26 for 8 bucks.

P.S.: Just a friendly recommendation for future reference you are really better off using the search tool, searching the tags or starting a thread asking for help rather then posting these kinda questions in someone elses thread.

Upon further investigation sabv it seems your seedlings are stretching and i didnt see a spectrum on that light, try to get a 6500k (Daylight) and put them as close as you possibly can (seriously, like an inch or two). I don't know if that 14'' will do a lot of good but I am not to familar with that.

Without a spectrum on that flood its hard to say if its putting out the best kind of light.

I am not trying to ruin your thread but i see you missing a few key elements of any adult built grow room, one is a smoke alarm, the other is a fire extinguisher,dresser/stealth grows are very dagerous,in trying to keep costs down dangerous situations arise,i wouldnt dare putting any HID lighting inside that dresser, maybe go with all cfl's .

thanks panhead for the advice. i have gotten really blazed and paranoid about that. but i got a decent 8" fan in there right now and the top drawer is folded down all the time so it stays around 70 in the dresser. the only time it really needs to be stealth is when my landlord comes in to do work.
