STEALTH GROWDROBE DESIGN (CAD drawings)

I have been roaming around this thread for a while getting some info for my wardrobe conversion. This is my first post so bare with me. Northern Light X Shiva seeds are on their way. I plan on using a wardrobe approx. 36"x21"x64" (WxDxH). I will be using the flood and drain method with a reservoir. I will start my grow with a CFL manifold and upgrade to an HPS. would a 150W do? Once i'm ready to trim stems for clones i will transfer the CFL manifold to the clone chamber. Look at drawing provided for further detail. Any comments and suggestions are welcome. I'm approaching this with design THEN build. What else can i do for max yield and fastest grow?

I just realized when I first posted the design the quality changed due to file size.you can see the PDF's for the design here:

In jpg format. (PDF is better quality)

Very nice drawings, I also plan on doing a wardrobe grow in the near future. I had planned on dwc, but flood and drain looks interesting. I plan on doing 4 plants also. For light I have a 250watts mh/hps. I am going to use a s&P 6in fan.

I'm wondering if you would be willing to let me use your drawing as basis for mine, I'd just like to make some changes.

I think DWC would save a little height were as flood n drain might use the area a little better as you would be able to fit it in snuggly. But I suppose you could make some square buckets or a square coantainer for dwc.

Thanks! sure you can use them, i don't mind. I'm pretty good with CAD so maybe i can draft some stuff up for you. Do you plan on using a wardrobe with the same dimensions (plus or minus a few inches) as the one i have?

The strain i will be growing is Northern Lights x Shiva. the NL strains are supposed to grow short and dense since it's an Indica strain. Based on my design I should end up with a net growth height of about 30". If I later decide that I need more height I will consider the DWC method since my current design requires a seperate reservoir which takes up verticle space as you mentioned.

I am also considering having 6 plants instead of 4. Leaning more towards a 250w HPS also.

Do you think 12" in height will be enough for a clone chamber including lights? Can i go smaller? I could use the extra height in the main chamber. I'll be taking clones off of the veging plants when trimming and transfer to main chamber immediatly after harvesting. I also plan on using a net. Not sure how high to place it though. Any suggestions?

good luck on your future grow.

put ur intakes as low as you can!! the higher they are the more warm the air coming in is and the lights will get it faster warmed up 2!! so put them at ground level!! i dont think pc fans are powerful enough to be used with carbon filters!! if your going to use an hps consider buying a cool tube as it will get real hot in there!! also stealth?? i dont find it very stealthy!! light will escape and with fans u will have noise!! if ur good with cad i think you could improve your plans alot!! also consider if you want future amendments how will you do them?? will u be able to?? lets say it gets too warm and u need a greater outtake fan or humidity is too low or too high how are u going to correct this? how are you going to adjust lights and how will they be moved? if something brakes down how essential is it and how will u fix it!! many things will not go as planned and many things will break down need further fixing etc etc make something that can be adjusted easily that can be fixed easily and that will work efficiently!! unfortunately u will only get to the efficiency once everything is set up and running so plan carefully and have room for changes for when the time comes!! i dont want to discourage but rather bring u closer to an upcoming reality so you can face it more confidently!! hope this helps!!

relocating the fans lower does sound like a good idea. If i end up using a 250W HPS (most likely) it will create a lot of heat. The PC fans I'll be using will be 110 CFM from newegg 120mm. 4 of them will add up to about $40. Is there a better alternative for around the same price range and noise level? The PC fans I'm sure will be good for air flow and odor control. The lamp will most likely have to be cooled with its own exhaust though. Probably a cool tube like you suggested. Are in-line exhaust fans good? what's a good diameter and CFM for an exhaust fan for a 250w HPS? Are they loud? Ambient temperature will be around 68-75 degrees fahrenheit BTW.

Light leak will not be acceptable. IMO there should be NO light leaks at all. I wouldn't want my girls to have some photo trauma. I will use weather strips to seal off the cab and the different compartments. I don't mind if I have SOME noise. My PC noise level would be ok and it's pretty loud since it has cheap fans. The cab does not need to be metal gear solid stealth, just not super obvious.

Things will be added as they are needed. Are there any cheap plants out there that need the same growing environment as cannabis? I would like to test the cab once it's built. Thanks for the input.

so whats ur update dude?? thought anything from what i told u?? i might be on my first grow but i have had many friends grow some commercially too so i know some things first hand besides having the experience of building a stealth cab!! i could provide easy made lightproof designs THAT WORK and i can help u make ur cab 100% silent but u need to straighten out some issues first!! if your still into the ebb & flow u could have some space limitations but i think we could design something really good!! they say research learn then research again then try then try again and then teach what u learned to master your knowlege!!

I used AutoCAD R14. Converted to PDF with a newer cad.

What program did you use to do that?
So the CAB Design i originally planned had to change. apparently the wardrobe i was going to use is actually a pretty nice peace of furniture. what i ended up doing is just using different compartments. I have the RES in one compartment and the plants in a different compartment. It's working out great so far. I currently have bag seed growing. I figure I'd try it out with the cheap seeds before using the Nirvana seeds.

I will continue with this setup for another 2 weeks. By then they should have grown to just a couple of inches from the lights. It looks like i can disassemble the wardrobe in a way that i can build it back together. If worst comes to worst i'll buy a cheap used one on craigslist.
