stealth rubbermaid closet grow

I began on feb 23 with bag seed from a friend. I started in a 30 or so gallon tub in my closet with tinfoil lining the inside of it. I put the gro light you get at walmart across the top. I noticed the light seemed a bit reddish to me so I got a 100 watt cfl in daylight (6500k). This is right above the plants. I planted them in ziplock containers with holes in the bottom and with miracle gro soil.

I have started to use miracle grow plant food (24/8/16). I know a lot of people dont like it but its all I could get and im using the tiniest bit.

The plants are kept at a constant 83 F however the first week i didnt think to up the temp and they sat at 65. The lights are on 24/7. The only problem after the second week was that the leaves on some plants were twisting or curling down. I realized that was due to low humidity.

attached are pics of my first setup

After a bunch of comments I redid my entire setup because tinfoil is bad, the clear cups were bad/ too small, the light was not enough, the space was too tiny, and the smell was already strong after 2 weeks. (not that I dont like the smell cuz its good but company might notice)

So what I did was stack 2 tubs on top of each other paint the inside black to hide the light (didnt work so i just lined it with the fake leather stuff on notebooks cuz i had a ton of old ones laying around).

I built this carbon filter https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/101248-best-diy-ez-walmart-carbon.html and man is it great. I cut a hole in the top to put it in. I got a variable power output off of ebay for 10 bucks and hooked that up to an old computer fan. I love being able to control the speed. The fan blows in the bottom and was meant to push air through the filter and not have any more smell.

What I learned is that you need to make sure the air is going through the filter only or else air leaks out everywhere. You need negative pressure in the tub so that air only escapes where you want it to. Positive pressure will force it out everywhere! To do this i moved the fan above the filter sucking air from the inside and closed up the hole on the bottom a little smaller and put a coffee filter on it.

For lights I grabbed a bathroom light fixture at lowes for 10 bucks and some Y joints.
I have 2 100 cfls, 1 75, and 2 65. (my room looked too good with the daylight cfl i couldnt give it up) Its easy to wire up and if you got any questions feel free to ask. I put that on an adjustable rope.

As for the plants I re potted them in bigger pots that were not see through and used miracle grow water retention soil. I also stopped watering with nuts and just use tap water that has been sitting.

I decided to FIM the right two plants for the experience. Im pretty sure I messed it up but hey we'll see what happens. It is currently day 18 and I'll update it quite frequently as this is my first and I am hoping for a high success rate...and and no males.

Alright a 3 week update. The bottom right plant is kinda a runt but I guess its coming along pretty well.

My friend who started the same day as me had used only 1 grow florescent tube with his 8 plants and came back from a week of not watering them and they are no more then an inch tall leaning on the side...I showed him how to fix it.

I posted two pics of the day before to today to show how fast they are growing. They are on 21/3 growing light cycle. Comments are always appreciated.

alright so my plants are pretty short still which i hope isnt a prblm. They are growing out so fast and i worry this could be bad in the long term as i only have a rubbermaid to grow in. There are little buds growing in each node but it doesnt seem like i can tell sex yet.

here are some pics from today
