i suppose it COULD work. better figure a way to rig a inline fan with a carbon filter in there or your parents are going to know a couple weeks into flower when it starts stinking up the whole house.

You got balls for trying to do that in your parents house without them knowing. Just know if something happens...you will get them into trouble also. I wouldn't recommend you doing something like that unless they are ok with it...just ma 2 cents.

Hes right, respect your parents house dude. If they're not cool with this type of stuff, don't endanger their freedom. All you have to do is tell one friend and you risk getting busted. I know its past season this year, but outdoor grows work great when shacking up with parents, save the indoor grows for when you get your own place. Although....I am positive that nothing anyone on these forums says is going to change your mind, you got everything bought, set-up, planned(I hope), and ready to go. Carbon filter is a must, no if's, and's, or but's about it. A fan inside the tent is great and all, but do you have any air intake? Nutes? Ferts? You don't have anyone that you absolutely trust that lives by themselves that you can sent your tent up at? I would never personally grow with another person, or get another party involved, being its never ended good from my experience, but your taking a hell of a risk doing this at your parents house. Patients is a virtue. I waited 3 years(turned 18 and moved) before i did my first indoor.

No one knows, just me. I was thinking of doing a DIY carbon filter at walmart, will that suffice? And no I dont got air intake, do I really need one? Im using led and winter is just around the corner.. my room will be roughly 60f in winter. I forgot to mention I am moving in 5 month. Im just practicing on one plant mainlining.

Just a thought, but since you've started buying the gear anyway why not grow something like a tomato plant ?
It will be a crash course in the basics of balancing nutes, light, and water on something that doesn't cost anything when you mess it up. Lycopersicon esculentum grows really well to about the same size, adapts to both soil and hydro, and is susceptible to all the same stuff your babies will be later (fungus gnats, spider mites, TMV, powdery mildew, etc). Oh, and start making your own sprouts for salads and sandwiches if you're going to grow from seed ;).

your going to have to have a good carbon filter. doubt a walmart one is gonna work. you also need a inline fan that has a matching or a little less CFM rating.

Except for the bags of Fox Farm Soil and the smell you'll be alright! I might just ask mom and dad what they think. That's what I did back in high school and mom said yes!

Yeah man i feel like this is going to be more of a headache for you than its worth. Ive done grows in everythiing from a mini fridge to a 6x6 walk in closet and there is always a curveball of some sorts. Your biggest issue will be noise from the fan, which is almost impossible to completely eliminate. I think you are also underestimating how much work it will be to not track dirt or leaves or any other shit around the house. Not to mention ur parents are gonna wonder why bringing jugs of water into ur room. It really is just a matter of time before they get suspicious and do some investigating. Run it b them and if they are cool great, otherwose that tomato idea was really good in order to get u familiar with growing. The two plants arealmost identical in termsof growing needs.

these guys are right. you need to get a scrubber but the inline is going to make noise. i recomend getting the smallest inline and air scrubber that will work for your tent. if you can vent that out side some how (not into a wall that goes no where). then i would def get one of these and put it in your room or exhaust duct. i bought one just to see and it works great. puts out a different scent but not bad. but one of these and a small inline/scrubber should cover 100%.

good luck

I would advise not to do this. I know your prolly excited and determined to do this. But under these circumstances it will be difficult to get a yield that's worth it. You will need to make sure no light leaks. Keep smell down and make sure the fan makes no noise. It will start to smell before budding. And you better paying rent if your going to do this.

Sorry, I didnt see your other post saying you will wait. I think when it comes to growing patients is a big part of a successful grow.
