stems with no leaves or budd

question guys????/ okay well there is stems coming outta the plant that have no leaves or bud on them just like green sticks coming out is somone cutting ma budd and leaves out or does this happen/????? just a couple stems on everyplant are like almost cut looking i think there was budd and leaves on them before and today when i went to water them there are these stems with no budd or leaves left on them just like green sticks shooting out from the main stem???? please help and info?

Yeah.... not to bad .... so far. I'm about to run the dog down to the water to see what the sea is looking like.

Do the stems have a covering over them like its supposed to be like that? Or is it cleanly cut like someone snipped it? Or is it roughly cut like an animal chewed on it?
