For $1000 you can make four of these lights (100 Vero's total).
is that with international warrantees for parts? Buying in my country of residence parts cost as follows :

BXRC-40E1000-B-03 $6.70ea (5.87USD) - digikey

HLG-185H-C1400A $163.43 (147.37USD) - local, 5 year warantee

to build the 50 cob setup I'm quoting $661.86 (579.25USD) and thats exclusive of holders, the aluminium extrusion, thermal paste, and fans with psu. I would conservatively add $200 (175USD) to cover those parts, bringing it to about $860 (705USD).

Obviously the non-lighting hardware estimate is high, but I think it is close to accurate. So if you can point me somewhere I can save 200 greenbacks I would be stoked, because after seeing your last weigh-in I had accepted that I'd pay through my nose to get 600w HPS results in a space I'd have trouble keeping cool with 400w's in a tube on a mover (the original plan).

The pricing on those drivers is exorbitant, it's twice the normal EU or USA price. Probably you have already checked all of these. I got them from Elpro but they only ship within Europe.

As an alternative you can go cheap and power each string with a driver like this. It has good efficiency but it's not reliable. If it is any consolation I would actually pay twice what I had paid for the HLG's now that I know them.

It has taken 54 days, same as in the previous grow. Cindy is always in for some trichome porn so here you go

The leaves are pretty sticky. When they are trimmed off this makes for very rich trimmings. Here is 3.0 gram of qwiso shatter made from 38 gram of cured trim

Cindy's place in the flower room is taken over by the first SoG module of 5 smaller C99's. They have been vegged for way too long and are over 60cm high now. Here they are on the left
IMG_7037_1.JPG
The C99's look like they already flowering with a lot of pre flowers, this is just typical of C99. Even in the veg room the swollen seed pods of the pre flowers are already sticky.

Here is Blue Dream, very large flowers but not so sticky yet

All cuttings except 2 Lemon Kushes took root. Lemon Kush is always the hardest to root and takes the longest. C99 is super easy, Blue Dream too, ICE is fairly easy to clone. I put the cuttings in a shot glass of water for a few days and then into a cup of soil.

Hey man quick question are you dissolving your shatter in vegetable glycerine or you just loading straight up. Been kicking around the idea to dissolve some full melt bubble in VG. but not sure if it's worth the effort. Just so I could lead more than small daps in my concentrate chamber.

Don't know much about dabbing (only dabbed some scissor hash). But I do know that the resin and glycerin don't mix very well. Adding some glycerin will not dilute the resin and make it more fluid, instead the two will stay separate. It is possible to dissolve the resin in a few times more glycerin or (what I use) propylene glycol. The concentration of this solution is probably too weak to dab on, but it can be used directly in a e-cig. In a e-cig the solution is aerosolized which is a great deal different from dabbing. I'm not even sure if the temperature of the earosol particles reach a high enough temperature to fully decarboxylate the cannabinoid acids. If anyone knows more about this I would love to hear.

For what it's worth what I do is to put the shatter and PG in a small needle bottle and let it sit on top of a Meanwell driver for the added warmth, with some occasional shaking. After a few days the PG has become fully saturated and will not dissolve any more of the resin.

That's what I was wondering. I was wanting to instead of dabbing the full melt load it up in a tank like you. A buddy of mine just uses his shatter straight but was thinking if I could use the tank it would be great to travel and take with and not have to load up much more frequently. Where are you sourcing your pg from? Same as vg, look for usp grade?

I'm using pharmaceutical grade PG from Inawera.

The bubble hash you have probably contains some plant solids. The e-cig will readily deliver this plant matter as an aerosol to the inside of the lungs which may not be pleasant or healthy. So the hash might need an extra filtration first.

Amazing, simply amazing! From the setup to the layout to the results! Thanks for posting. This is what it's all about!

how did you keep the cindy 99 so small? was it a 12/12 from start?

It was a clone with very good symmetry, topped above 3th node, developed 6 even tops and behaved better than usual. Normally there's a lot more stretch. I did leave more lower branches. With C99 the thinner side branches will grow good nugs if there is enough light. The thinness of the branch and the weight it carries is bizarre.

hmmm...I gotta locate some c99 seeds for sure...that looks awesome! What other strains do u like to grow that are on the smaller side? It sounds like topping is essential. Did it take long to be comfortable topping?

Height control is essential for all my strains. Topping, pinching and kinking stems over. Doesn't take long to get used to.
Glycerin is used for making resin tinctures. It is slow to dissolve.
Right, the e-juice is just a resin tincture. Propylene glycol can be used too, it dissolves more resin so the tincture can be made stronger than with glycerin.
Once more COB's are used, I expect the grams per watt to go up dramatically.
Even more COBs..? I have some ideas for upgrading the current light but for the time being the focus is on making the most of what is there. That means experimenting with better growing techniques.
