Sterilite Stealth Cab Build

Ok, I am building a sterilite cab that is 35 3/4" Height, and here is what I have learned, (pics soon, be patient)

Ok you receive your box from whoever, and assemble GOOD.

Second, you take a pair of scissors, and a mini hack saw blade on a framed curring device and pencil in your fans.

Cut 2 fan holes.

I will show placement later in pics.

Now I try and do this DIRT CHEAP as possible, for the top fan 120MM Fan and NEC adapter 9v

On the bottom fan blowing in 80MM smaller fan and adapter. You can cut a small area out of the left side of your tope hole for an electrical strip. Glue gun all those in. Now add black duct tape and grey duct tape to all of it to lightproof.

Buying strips add 3 power strips with 4 socket outlets attached to each.
(3.50 power strip $.97 each socket)
(Pics soon! Be patient I am using linux).

Anywho, one you have those up and tested and working in stages, you can glue gun up a windshield reflector for the whole thing and violia ! Grow box done for $110 or less depending how your Wally dollars went,

This is the stage I am at now, adding reflectivity, and when I am done, I will photo it and upload several pics so you can see that a box like this can be easy and dirt cheap to assemble.

A lot of people have made this project tough with bunches of tools and extras.

You don't need them, just elbow grease, and the ability to assemble.

More soon!

Thanks,
Jon

I'm really interested in this grow box for myself. I have a 150w HPS I want to put in one of these boxes and I might start my build of the box next friday. I was interested to see what the quality of these things are, and how hard they are to light proof. I don't really know whether I should go with HPS or just CFL for this small of a cab but I feel like my plan of attack is going to be just using the HPS and keeping it in a fixed location at the top and moving my plants as needed although I think the light intensity in such a small box will be sufficient without really having to move any plants around. I was able to keep a microgrow of 12-13k lumens of CFL cool with PC fans so I'm hoping I can do that with this. My plan was to use the reflective car windshield panels too but I saw one of these boxes with mylar and they looked very professional. Mylar is only around 30 dollars for something ridiculous like 50 square feet. Unlike the OP though I'm not really all that interested in stealth.
