Skink,

Have you had problems with using the round drain pipes 4" or what ever size with water spraying out from the holes that are cut out for the net pots?
I'm making this type of system and after drilling the 2" hole and putting in the net pot I notice that the net pot will rock back about 16 or 8th of an " and was wondering if water will spray out from this.

Peace-

Don't use the round PVC pipes. Use 4" PVC fence posts instead. Trust me on this!

I haven't had any problems with spray coming out of the net areas. The net pots have plastic that extends down before turning into a net. That combined with the lip on the net pot keeps the water from spraying out.

Hey skink,
I didn't like the way that the net pot sat on the round drain pipe and didn't want to take a chance, so I went and got the 4" square with caps.

Now I get it. I thought you were talking about the fence posts.

Good move going to square fence posts!

The first system I bought had 2" round pipes inserted into the 4" round tube. Way too much work! Not to mention you have to deal with the pipes wanting to roll. Don't forget there is no room to run sprayers inside the pipe so you have to use external hoses (leaks).

This is a case were being square is cool...

Using the square fence post, don't you use 1/2" pvc for the sprayers?

That goes into the square fence post.

just a few quick questions for you Stinkbud. First you dont mention how much water you mix with you nutrient solution (cloner , veg, flower). I know you run at 2900 PPMs but a rough estimate would be much appreciated. second do you run the bloom formula through all three cycles or do you use the grow formula also. Do you Ph your solution? I think I read that your running 5.8 or so but you say you dont worry about Ph as long as your running 2900 PPMs. Also to be sure your timers are running 1 min on 4 off so a pre programed timer should work or is a adjustable timer preferred? I am attempting to recreate your master piece with some O.G. clones. Have the cloner built. Using 400 GPH pumps. Do you ever have a problem with sprayer or pump clogging if so how do you prevent it. Sorry for so many questions but want to get this right and you seem to be the master of this subject.

I use an 18 gal reservior. (Rubbermaid container)

The cloner and veg units must use the Rubbermaid Roughneck containers or you will flood the fuck out of your house! Everything else will leak.

The Aero/NFT fence post systems can use any type of container.

I'll run 2900 PPM during the initial stretch but slowly ramp down at weeks 4-7 of flowering. I flush week 8/9.

second do you run the bloom formula through all three cycles or do you use the grow formula also.
I use the same formula for veg as I do for bloom just because it's easy and works really well. I only veg for 3 weeks. My problem is under state law I have to keep my veg plants under 12" high or they count as adults. I can only have 6 adult plants per patient. My veg plant might grow more if I used the grow fomula but in my case that wouldn't help me.

You may want to try using the grow formula in your veg system. It may actually work better.

Do you Ph your solution? I think I read that your running 5.8 or so but you say you dont worry about Ph as long as your running 2900 PPMs.
I run 5.8 but if you're off a little it's no big deal. A cheap $7 test kit will work just fine.

Also to be sure your timers are running 1 min on 4 off so a pre programed timer should work or is a adjustable timer preferred?
I haven't found any programed timers. That would be a lot better in my opinion.

Those little fucking dials suck! It's real easy to move them and not realize it. One morning I woke up and everything was wilting. I had accidentally hit the top dial and reset it to 15 seconds instead of one minute. I almost lost everything! In fact I'm going to go tape those little bastards down right now. Thanks for reminding me!

I am attempting to recreate your master piece with some O.G. clones. Have the cloner built. Using 400 GPH pumps. Do you ever have a problem with sprayer or pump clogging if so how do you prevent it.
I use pump filter bags. They cost about $10. Just stick your pump into the bag and never worry about a clogged pump again.

I always have a bunch of clean sprayers handy. Every time I harvest I replace the old sprayers with clean ones. I then take the old sprayers and soak them in soapy water for a few days. I then take out an old toothbrush and clean the sprayers to like new condition. Then they are ready for the next time.

The cloner runs plain water so I never need to clean the sprayers. I do run a pump bag though because after 3 weeks the roots will be long enough to start getting sucked into the pump.

Sorry for so many questions but want to get this right and you seem to be the master of this subject.
The only thing I'm a master at is baiting hooks:oops:

Thanks for all the info! You've got a whopper there. One more question can I get the height of the sprayer section from the top of the containers. (clone, Veg.) about how far away from bottom of your baskets.? Oh and discount Hydroponics has the cycle timers that are pre programed at 1 on 4 off (NFT-1e) Discount Hydroponics - C.A.P. Fixed Cycle TImers

I'll be yanking the girls on the right tomorrow morning. The colas are looking sweet.

Nine weeks is the only way to go with most strains that claim eight weeks. The extra week really allows the buds to sweeten just like tree ripened fruit.

I'm really happy with the results from Botanicare's Sweet. The aroma and flavor of my bud is really enhanced. It's no bullshit like so many other products. (Not that bullshit is bad but I prefer guano)

The CO2 has added 4oz. to each harvest. I use one $17 tank a week. It is more than worth the money.

Right now you can see the following strains in the photos:
AK-47
Snowbud (Akorn)
Blueberry
Elvy
Bubblegum
Goo
Purple Silver
Skunk #11

I have also have NYC Diesel and Shishkeberry in veg right now ready to go into flower tomorrow.

I saw earlier in the journal that you are getting 1-2oz per plant. With 2000w and 6 weeks of rooting/veg time, don't you think that you should be pulling more than that? I'm obviously not bad mouthing you at ALL. Your grow is pretty much exactly how I want mine to be if I could. I was just putting the numbers together and thought you could get more than that. Maybe cuz they are so close together?

My Skunk plants are out of control! I had to tie them down to keep them from hitting the ceiling! The leaves are the size of a pie pan. Should be a good stinky harvest.

A skunk sprayed outside the other night and it made me think of my plants:weed:. I can hardly wait for some classic skunk bud. It's been many years for me. No one grows it anymore:sad:.

My other strains are doing great also. One of my strains is called Goo. It's already getting trichromes on the fan leaves at just 4 weeks into flower! It smells super sweet, just like candy.

The Bubblegum is growing huge. It's showing a lot more Sativa than I thought it would. The leaves are becoming very thin just like a classic Sativa but it's not running like a Sativa. It might just be the perfect plant.

I found some black lids for my cloner and veg unit. They don't let any light in like the grey lids did. I was getting a little bit of algea growth on the roots because light was getting through. I've had no problems since I went with the black lids. They are hard to find for some reason.

Check out the grow room controller I got on Fleabay. It controls everything, lights, humidity, temp, CO2. It came with a CO2 sensor that monitor the CO2 level and keeps the room at exactly 1500 PPM.

Some of my new strains just can't hang at 2900 PPM without showing some tip burn. I've lowered my PPM to 2000 to see what happens.

It's weird how different strains like a different amount of nutes. My AK47 and Snowbud can easly handle over 3000 PPM but my Blueberry starts showing tip burn at 2200.

My buds smell and taste better since I've been using Botanicare's Sweet. Try is and see for yourself. It really works!

You have to realize that I am running a perpetual harvest. If I harvested the whole room at once I would pull down over 3 lbs per harvest. That's actually pretty good for a small 7x8 closet.

Right now I'm pulling at least a pound every three weeks of the dankest weed you could ever imagine. I could grow a lot more if I picked a different strain like Big Bud or Chronic but I love the taste of Blueberry and some of the other strains I run.

Blueberry is slow growing and has smaller buds but it tastes so fucking good I don't care if I only get half as much. I still end up with more killer weed than I could ever smoke in a lifetime.

I'll take quality over quantity any day.

Can you spot the Blueberry cola in this photo?

Very nice. Can you help me out w/my room? So if I have 4 aerosystems, with 4 plants in each, vegging for 3 weeks w/ big bud I was thinking that I could pull 4oz or more off of each plant? Using liquid cooled 1000w hps on a light mover and a pretty good greenthumb + Advanced nutrients. Am I being realistic? just right? or underachieving? Thanks 4 your help and your journal.

You would need to veg longer than three weeks to get 4oz. per plant.

Problem is that the light can only reach so far down before it is blocked by the upper fan leaves. It is better to keep your plants in veg so they end up only 12-18" high. That way the plants only end up being about 3-4 feet tall.

Your better off with a Sea of Green method if you want max yield per sq.ft.

My Blueberry trich are turning amber at 9 weeks. The AK47's are mostly cloudy (with a chance of rain:wink:).

I like my Indicas a little on the done side of the window and I like my Sativas on the early side of the harvest window. That way I have a heavy body stone for pain or sleep and an energetic head stone for the day.
