I made two batches of fish emulsion this year, the first turned out pretty decent, but the second one i am unsure of. The second was started in May, at one point early on a bear got into it, pulled one fish out, but did not take it, so i put back in and let it go, also cleaned a few bugs from it, put cloth back over it. The smell only got worse with it, usually the smell calms down and is kind of earthy after 3 weeks or so, but not with this, it is horrific like rotting flesh. The bones from the fish have black on them which i have never seen with a batch when i stir it. Not quite sure if i should even attempt at using it, but curious if anyone has any answers on if it is good or not, i have a 5 gallon bucket if it 3/4 way full, so would really hate to waste.

I would bury the stuff in a deep hole and start over. It sounds like it is spoiled and possibly even with a disease that you don't want in your plants.

i use commercial fish emulsion and if it stinks its anaerobic, possibly harmful to your plants. I usually toss a bottle if its super smelly.
