Storing Seeds

What are the best ways to store seeds that you havn't germ'd yet?

Put them in a film canister with some rice and put it in the freezer...

That will work nicely.

OK, follow up question. I know i posted this a long time ago but just found this thread in my rollitup and the question came into my head. OK, so you can store and save seeds-my question now is for how long can you store seeds while not lowering germination chances? Im not lazy, i did do some research on storing seeds but I'd like to ask you guys on specifically bud seeds b/c I dont know if all seeds work the same (how long you can store them) or if it varies from different types of seeds.

i put mine in the vegtable door in the fridge,i bet they last a year or two before they get lazy

In regards to storing seeds inside a film canister or other plastic container, with dessicant/rice:

1) Does it need to be in the freezer/fridge, or will any dark place do? Does it have to be cold?
and
2) Can I keep the seeds in the plastic baggies they came in? Got 3 different kinds, don't want to have 3 containers all full of rice in the freezer...I'd rather just put the 3 baggies in a plastic container, toss in some rice and some dessicant pouches, and put that single item in the fridge/freezer. That cool?


Also, how long do seeds store just sitting in their baggies, in the closet?
