Strain Selection

What's up guys long time follower finally in a space where I can make some things happen plant wise. Need some suggestions on strains.

I plan on running the fox farm line of soil and nutes 5 gal buckets possibly smart pots and a 600 hps so I'll likely only be flowering 4 plants at a time. Then ive got room to keep a clone station and likely 2 to 3 momma plants. What kind of light do I need to keep the mothers and clones happy? Can I veg under a 600 watt hps?

As for the seeds back when I was really into following closely (2008-2010) attitude seed bank was the place to go and breeders like cali connection and reserva privada had the gear everyone was after. Is this still the case? What are the best banks and breeders now a days? I'm looking to run to 2 to 3 strains grow them out like 4 seeds of one strain at time to find my moms and phenos. I'm in a pretty humid enviorment looking for mold resistant strains that yeild at least 4 zips (Oz's) a plant and keep an indica growth structure. Bag appeal smell taste potency and high bud to leaf ratio are important to me. Any suggestions? Nervous about my choice in genetics really don't want to go all out to pop some herms my old lady would kill my ass lol

Seedsherenow and a few others based in the US. I use the first one all the time. As for mold resistance just get a good dehumidifier and have good air flow ie air exchange and a good couple of circulation fans. I grew in Louisiana with no issues. It’s all in your setup.

I second the choice to order seed from inside the US if that's where you are. There are many domestic banks that have popped up recently and it's nice to get your shipment within a few days instead of weeks. Zero chance of confiscation because domestic shipments don't go through customs. I like the canna genetics bank out of Oregon but there are many others:.

Personally I think a lot of the more heavily promoted strains on many seed banks are listed as most popular or whatever mostly because they have the highest markup. The most popular may not be best for your tastes; it's about your own preferences so here's a few of mine...
As far as strain and/or breeder suggestions go there are so many it is hard to say. Been digging on TGA gear recently; just finished a Brian's berry cough which is strawberry cough x space queen....Absolutely delicious! It's a hybrid strain that finishes in 10 weeks. A lotta growers like TGA gear and it seems like it's hard to keep in stock so that tells you something.
Another gem I found was emerald triangle blueberry headband. Have been running this strain for years now and is always a tasty smoke. Nice big colas but sometimes can take up to 12 weeks to fully ripen. I guess I run alot of hybrids....
Finally among my faves because you say like heavy indica leaning strains I have to tell you about BC god bud. Very distinct hard to describe flavor/smell. Kind of a cross between roadkill and ripened figs. Super potent when grown right.
Yes of course you can veg under a 600w hps. For mothers, clones, seedlings, or small plants I prefer a T5 or T8. They are cheap and don't produce much heat. Perfect for a satellite grow area. Now you can get all kinds of bulbs to mix and match a custom spectrum for different stages of growth. These hortiluxe power veg bulbs are badass..,
