Double dutching still doesnt make sense but I believe that everyone has their own methods and I respect them. You can look at my 600 + posts and find I never disrespect anyones methods if it works for them. My opinion is like mygirls said. I'd rather have a beastly plant. My SoG provided me with more bud than I could handle, can't wait till my harvest is done.

I read in a magazine you could leave a blue led light on in the dark cycle of 12/12 and it will not disrupt the cycle but keeps the plant growing 24 hours a day.

Nice idea! The only problem is, it doesn't work that way. Giving your plant a bunch of short, fast, days won't make the calander go by any faster. Cannabis doesn't register the passage of time (number of days) by "counting" the number of "On-Off" cycles. That is why it can veg just fine under "24-7 Light". It really does rely on that old definition "12 hours of uninterupted darkness" to "Bloom". It works like this:

While the lights are "On", the plant is in Photosynthesis Mode (doing it's Thing!). While the lights are "Off" the plant produces a hormone that cannabis recognizes as "A nights sleep", so the day and night cycles are measured by chemical action - not by "On-Off" cycles. Cannibis is known as a "Short Day Plant" because it only "Blooms" when the Day (lights "On" period) is about 12 hours or less. Actually, that's only true in a natural (24 hour) timeframe. What really matters is that the Night (lights "Off" period) is about 12 hours, or more. That's because the "Sleep Hormone" needs to accumulate for about 12 hours, every "Night" cycle, to acheive the effect of triggering the "Blooming Responce".

"2 hours on - and 2 hours off" wont make the "days" pass faster - it will just give 50% lighting during the veg cycle.

Well i did something similar to that i had a plant that had been veged went into flowering for 3 weeks then i realized i wanted to clone the plant so i ended up vegging it again after it was back to veg i cut my cuttings then decided this wasnt mother plant material so i waited a week threw it back into flowering and its 7 weeks into the second flowering and its a beast but i found that its taking so long to finish but it definatly has made a difference in size and flower spots i feel the yeild wiull be increased because it has more than one cola. I dont recomend it though i found i get more production from topping and fiming. Hope this helped

yeh it can drag out abit, but good input of info, as ive said before i only do it with the odd plant, ''NOT MY CROP'' ive done it with a few and had really good end results, there was a double page spread on this in weed world a short while ago, had a look on the net but cant find it, peace.
