Strange looking buds

Hi all,

Any ideas of what has happened here with the buds?

They all have strange chimney type things on the end of each bud?

Normally a bud is nice and fat with a rounded end but these don't seem to be fattening up and all have this wired growth on the end.

I have seen some other pics of buds like these but no one has commented on them to say that they are out of the ordinary.

The whole plant was doing ok up until 2 weeks ago then the leaves around the centre cold all started to point at a 90 degree angle and all buds seem to have stopped growing.

There also appears to be far more leaf than bud which is odd as I am using 2 x 600 wHPS in a tent so there is enough light.

See pics...

The first pic is not of mine, I saw it on RIU and it is of better focus than all of mine and has the same problem.

Thanks :)

Are you talking about the whole cola having a chimney thing on it or each individual bud?

Thanks Guys...

They are 6 weeks into flower & I plan to flower for another 3-4 weeks :~)

My room is 83 lights on & 70 lights off with a rh of 55-65%.

Thanks for the pic Del66666 :)

They just don't seem to be going like they should at week 6.

I have some mag def's with some leaves going rusty (Starting from the viens)
so yesterday I fed some Hesi TNT Complex which had magnesium in but the
leaves have not improved or new ones have not stopped from going this way.

I was not sure if the lack of growth/strange looking buds (So I thought) was
linked to this def.

Cheers Del,

I was going to buy epson salts but the guy in my local
hydro place said Hesi TNT Complex would do the job too.

I already had this in the garage so used it instead, he said
I should see quite a rapid improvement but I have not & there
are still new leaves going the same way overnight.

Epson salts it is then :)

The buds are still not like any I have grown before though, as I
said they are normally nice and chunky like a rugby ball/
american football. Hopefully when the mag def is sorted they
will start to bulk up again :~)

Thanks again...

yeah i dont think every strain does it as much, you will get lots of yellow leaves as the nitrogen is used up, that guy just wanted to sell you some of his mag feed.

I think you could be right on the re-vegging...

How does this happen & is there anyway to stop it?

Thanks

Hi guys,

How long till should it before before the Epsom Salts work their magic?

I fed them on thursday with 1 teaspoon for 2 gallons of water & they are still
browning. I know that the effected leaves will not improve as the damage is
done, but the other leaves are showing new mag def's?!?

Thanks

hi mate, who said it was mag def? leaves are going to go yellow and die now you are 2/3 through flower, looks like still lots of green leaves in pics, you still feeding ?

I would cut all N from your feeding program. Thats probably why all the leaf growth, just a bit too much a bit too late in flower. Other than that I think they look fine. Bet they will fatten up during their last couple of weeks.

Hi mate,

Some of the leaves are showing a major Mag Def, I pulled a few off & took them up to my local hydro store and the chart they
has showed a mag def, this matched what i researched on RIU so I fed them Epson Salts.

The suspected mag def only effects the big fan leaves on and just below the main cola, the majority of the other leaves are lush green, but some
are browning rapidly with the ends curling up. The browning starts from the veins then spreads outwards as opposed to random rusty spots
appearing which indicates that it is a mag def rather than a calcium def.

I maybe talking complete crap, if so I apologise :)

I have 11 plants, 9 x cheese & 2 x great white shark, the sharks are doing great and will be chopped within
the next week but the cheese are the ones causing me problems, of the 9, 3 are doing fine with normal shaped
buds and green leaves, then I have 6 with various stages of what I believe is a mag def & what I would call strange
shaped bugs which don't seem to be bulking up.

I used Plagron Bat Mix for my soil & the plants were transplanted into this just before I put them into flower, there
should be enough food for 5 weeks so I only started to use half strength nutes about 2 weeks ago (They will be 7
weeks into flowering on Monday).

I used nutes 2 waters ago then Epson Salts on the last water so I really should use plain old ph'd water tonight.

I'll get some more pics of the whole plants to give you a better idea.

Thanks for your help...

Cheers

k mate, firstly i doubt the leaves will all die b 4 the buds are ready,we all tend to panic, more pics would be good. if three are fine and have been treated exactly the same then that is odd.the mag prob hasnt had time to work yet i doubt, think i would be careful giving to much nute, how about 1 or 2, t spoon of organic molasses in a gal of water .
