I think this might be genetics but I'm just not sure what I'm looking at here. I've grown many plants past this stage and have never seen this kind of growth development. Although I have also never grown this strain before. This plant is a White Widow. Notice how the new growth looks, all twisted around itself and stringy.

Here are some details that might help:

Strain:

White Widow

Age:

3 Weeks

Medium:

MG soil with time release ferts

Temp:

Lights on 80-85 F
Lights out 73-75 F

Ventilation:

70cfm bathroom exhaust fan
desk fan

Cab Size:

2x2x6

PH:

I have no idea, havent ordered test kit yet

Watering:

I give it straight tap water at room temp whenever the soil is dry down to 4 inches or about once a week. We have filtered mountain well water. Very clean.

Lighting:

I use 5 42w cfl's that I keep about 4 inches from the top of the plant

Observations:

One thing I would like to mention is the presence of bugs in the soil and on the plant itself. They are very tiny brown cylindrical moth looking things. I have noticed silvery patches on some of the leaves also, but no apparent damage as of yet. I have also seen larger black flies on the soil. Not like house flies but kinda like love bugs only smaller. The little brown ones could be thrips.

During the first two weeks of this plants life it's development looked normal. Then the two new top leaves grew straight up and stayed closed together like two hands in a praying position, for 3 days instead of opening and spreading outward. They just started to open today revealing the twisted stringy mass of new growth.

Here is a link to the video of my plant, thanks in advance for any advice or info you might have.

Seriously man that thing is still kinda small, I would wait another week or two and see what develops then. I have some Veg that looked wierd for about a week with a ton of branches and leaves all being created tightly together and then about a week later, they had all properly spread out and looked very nice and bushy.
