Strawberries in curing jars?

I've heard of people throwing a slice of lemon or an orange in their curing jars. Would you get the same effect with say a strawberry? Would it even be worth the trouble to do this? And ultimately would it taste like strawberries?

I imagine if you gave said strawberry a jump start on the dehydration process it could be done. However I'm not sure it is worth the risk.

Lemons and oranges have a stronger aroma than strawberries and less chance of mold. Just fyi I used the lemon/orange flavoring method and it made my weed taste awful

Adding fruit to a jar of weed to make the weed taste different is just retarded IMHO. WTF are you growing/smoking weed for if you don't like the taste...

The reason I know of to add orange peel to a jar/bag is to add moisture to the bud, which is probably not a good idea unless you do it for a day and your bud is really really dried to a crisp.

Yea I've come to this conclusion which is why If I were to try it it would be in a tiny jar with just a few buds to see what happens.

My buds are great, thanks for the concern. as for why I would do such a thing, I've read in many different books, articles, etc... about adding a slice of fruit this is something I dunno if I'm willing to try because I love the taste of my buds and if it has a big impact on taste then I won't do it. ( I don't like oranges or lemons that much) But out of the curiosity of science I was just asking the question on what would happen and what the results would be. I find asking questions and doing experiments get me the desired results instead of just listening to people on hear who may have had one or two good experiences growing and now claim their pros who think they know their shit.

Oh thanks for the reply

Well, you're right about that. Given the wide variety of answers you'll get around here on any given topic, experimenting may be the only real way of finding out the truth.

lol I am still fairly new to this I mean I guess I'm on my 4th grow but I will alwayse consider myself a newb or whatever but for real Im tired of "Scientific facts" being thrown around without any sort of data to go with it. That's why I get opinions, try it myself, and then decide.

Same as how I figured flushing is all preference and after the cure It all tastes the same you can ask the 3 people I had do blind taste tests on 3 different buds. 2 flushed differently and 1 not at all.

Ive heard that if you just want to put some moisture back into some buds with adding any taste or smell use a peice of a carrot. fresh not frozen or canned. my neighbor does this and ive never smelled or tasted carrot but it brings some moisture back into the buds when they are dried to much and somewhat harsh. Like i said I heard this and never tried it. although ive smoke the bud from his jar with a carrot in it. I just dont over dry my shit so ive never needed to do it.

Adding certain things during curing, or just storing weed with certain things will effect the taste of it. I knew a guy who would take his good weed and put Altoid Sour Tangerine candies in a tin with some nug. It doesn't effect the high, just makes it taste more fruity. He didn't try to pass it off as anything else, he just did it to change the up flavor from time to time.

Mold. That's all don't do it you will regret it. Some types will grow within hours with the right nutrition and moist environment.

Do what you need to do but if you like strawberries, eat them. Bud should smoke and taste like bud. Orange peel is used to rehydrate over dried buds, not really for flavor. What I am saying is not gospel, just what works for me.
