:leaf: OK, this is my first grow in a mini walk in wardrobe kind of thing and a seed has just sprouted, kind of excited about that since ive never planted or tried to grow anything :)

I have a 400 HPS light purchased which illuminates light at a frequency designed to be a compromise between optimum for vegative and flowering. Ive just ordered an oscillating fan and i'm waiting for the other seeds to come up. I didnt bother to germinated the seeds before hand I just planted them. One seed is a White Russian, the rest are Strawberry cough.

The pots are currently 1 gallon but I'll be transplanting round flowering to 3. I have placed the light 20 inches above the seeds as i'm afraid to burn them. I'm not sure how close I can put the lights, it does get quite warm. So I have to buy nutrients now, anybody got any recommendations ? So far so good, have to get the watering right and I may move the light closer..

have you got an office thermometer in there?, they are only cheap. you want to be running at about 25 celcius.

also, id move the hps another 5" atleast. Make sure to transplant after like 7 days of the reaching the surface, as i left it too long and the root system started fucking up a little.

but yeah, that looks like a decent little grow space. what is the diameters of the wardrobe do you know?

Hi there, im not posting to give you advice as im a noob to, im on my 1st grow but i went from clones, before i got the clones a friend gave me a couple of seedlings. Unfortunately i didnt do any research 1st & i put them under my 250 hps light and they were dead within 24 hours.

in my opinion you definely need light on seedlings, they can feel where the warmth and light is coming from and reach the surface for it, afterall its just representing the sun.

i agree they need light i just think that the hps was too strong for them as they hadnt even rooted. As i sez i wasnt giving advice as im far from qualified to do so, was just saying what my experience was.

my friends germinated 8 seeds, put them in rockwool , i had 2 off them when the seedlings were about 3 inches high.they had the other 6. i put mine under my hps light at about 2 1/2 to 3 ft , 1 had keeled over by the next morning & the other by the evening. My friends didnt have their hps on theirs but ended up ripping theres out 2 days later as the rozzas were knocking the door for some driving convictions.
all being well im going from seed next time but gonna get fluros & just keep my hps for flowering
Good luck with them
