Strawberry Kush Micro Bubbleponics/CFL (previously from newbies as: **minimal grow**)

Well. Im late, but its cool. I'm mad tired so I'm definitely gonna keep it short. I have my pH just right (about 5.9-6.0). Im letting my babies get plenty of fresh mountain air. Raised the lights to 13.5" on both sides to encourage the little ones to rise amongst the ranks.. and to keep my bigger ones from getting too hot. brown tips on my leaves have stopped. I am noticing my newer growth to be a tad on the yellow side (esp. in the center of leaves). Figured it to be onset of a deficiency--so I've added .5mL of nutes just until I can make it another full week to refill the res. Since my browning is seemingly cured I figured I will have little guess work with the next feeding. They seem to really be sucking a lot of those ppms--cant keep my pH stable for the life of me. Anywho... here they are. descending order like always.

the plant in pic one is showing me everyday that it is a random strain from my bigger seed bag. i remember now that I got the strawberry seeds from a californian grower I met a long time ago. he had been featured in high times, but the other seeds i had collected were from really good bud i had smoked all throughout college. some ppl just had maybe that one random seed in the bag and so i must have accidentally picked it. buuuut, i have no objections. looks like it has a lot of potential for a bagseed. my other three I have compared with various indicas and kushes on these forums... the burlier thicker leaves let me know I have the real deal.

anyways. thats my 2 bits. whatcha dudes think?

thanks amax. yeah i figure its still indica because of the wider leaves... buut def not the same as everyone else in the closet thats for sure. could be anything.

Well plant one is yellowing on top in the newer growth. I take it that it needs more nutrients, and/or the pH is locking the nutes out. So I checked the pH and it was high. I got the pH down for them to receive an additional 1mL of nutrients (which makes it about 1.5mL of nutes total added in the past 3 days....not a big deal since it seemingly sucked up 12mL and recovered from nute burn with that same mix). pH was adjusted afterwards of course.

We'll see. No pics--I'll post them if they get worse. other wise expect pics in a week from yesterday (which is also when I change the res out completely).

well it seems like i cured my problem. time will only tell. man i can't wait to flower....

yeah I would like to do that. in my hard copy journal I talk of scrog training already, so its cool you were on level with me about it. I am gonna start tying the branches that come from the intersections of old fan leaf stems once they start getting more developed... they are slow so I need to get more light in there which will happen this week sometime (waiting on tax money hahaha). but yeah definitely. I want them to spread out and get wider so I can eventually drop a screen on my plants and have ample terminals to work with. I'm going this route because I'm frustrated with my runts and if it ever came down to two, I'm gonna just up the production of whats left. I want it not to be complicated so I may have to clone after another 3-4 weeks? --to see if I can get rid of males before they get tangled in that mess.

also if my number of plants come down ... I'm downgrading my res size to 10 gal and moving into a cab = less nutes to deal with, less water to control pH, tighter space=better light distribution/control, stealthier, etc... this being my first hydro grow, I think I may need to downgrade just slightly to get the hang of DWC (heard its a hard grow method anyways).

well, I took a razor blade to as many male preflowers as i could. I know there are a lot on hermies but I tried. there are a lot of female flowers tho! my smaller plant is still a female for the most part there is just one site in question on the whole plant and me and my magnifying glass will have to be on watch. no male flowers have opened yet.

male flowers are on both plants, and i have removed many from the taller plant. I havent had to remove that many from the small one. I am having the problem of the taller plant blocking the light from the smaller because it just towers over it. Im thinking the taller one is sativa, not to sure. I know for a fact the smaller one is indica--strawberry kush to be exact. its approaching week 2 of flowering and i have so many white hairs balling up top. There are so many bud sites on the taller plant its ridiculous, not all of them can get light I wish I would have went with the scrog. My plant has completely outgrown its post... gotta move the setup. light cant get any higher up from the canopy where its currently at.


just one question, when topping off my res, I do just add the ratio of nutes for the water that is missing? remember I never got a ppm meter.


My seeds (Nirv. WW, barney's Grinspoon, and DP Purp#1 + 2 free random fem seeds) haven't arrived yet, but I did order more feminized seeds. I got Flash's Super Auto Annapurna, Big Buddha's Critical Mass Auto, Nirvana's Auto Northern Lights, and 2 free random fem seeds. Now Ill have quite a variety, high yield, low growth, crazy growth (dr. g), white, purp... im excited. I dont know what to try for next! ay suggs?

Damn.... sucks that last month's posts were deleted from everyone's journals. What a waste of time.

Well I'm going with the 5mL ea of Humboldt Master A & B since today is the 2 week flowering mark. I am topping off, so I need to refill to 2 gallons = 10mL ea.

I will post pics and update specifics later on today (after work).

Plants are doing great, moved em to my own bedroom closet, and preppin to purchase a grow tent. Still no seeds in the mail yet--expect them to come at the end of the week.

Well, its late as usual... but its not like I have many subscribers to complain about it. I still battle male flowers so both are hermies but the buds still are doing fine. They are growing a lot of white pistils, especially the shorter kush. Still no dank smells.

One slight problem was that during topping off the res I noticed lower leaves that had wilted the night before. I had sprayed them with h2o that may have had too much acidity or the fan that i left off allowed the lower leaves to smolder. I also let the res get down to 2 gallons. I already have hermies so i just trimmed some fan leaves because they were blocking light from the smaller kush.

My taller plant is 25"+ in height. My shorter plant stuck at 8.5"-9" tall. Light is running out of room to be raised. I am will soon purchase a grow tent (gotta get stealth+better accommodations).
