Stretching is usually thought of as a bad thing, as a consequence of too little light or light that is too far away. For stability of the stalk, health of the plant, you want it to be as bushy as possible.

Some plants will stretch no matter what you do with lights because they are genetically viney. These are usually sativas or sativa dominant plants.

As a rule I am against stretching people.

Sorry peep,s what i ment buy the question was do you stretch your plants .

I tie and bend my plant,s through the veg stage traing all the plant top,s to grow as cola,s every time one top gets to tall i tie or bend it to let the rest catch up . Meaning there is only cola,s growing and little Nugget,s

When i do this for 2 months of veg my plants be still smallish and very compact . The plants be half the size than f i let them go natural but yield
So this time i lifted the light before flowering to let all the cola,s strech up a bit before the flower,s strart to grow

Stretching is bad for the plant, it makes the plant more flimsy and will result in less yield. Just because the plant is taller doesn't mean you will get more out of it. The more bud sights and nodes the better. You want your plants to be short and bushy with the smallest increments possible between nodes. To keep your plants from stretching keep your lights as close as possible without burning them (with fluoros or CFLs this is up to about 1/2 inch from touching the plant).
