*Stress the hell out of the plants at the end of flowering!! *

Speaking of stressing out the plant before harvest, I am experimenting with no water to let them slowly die then once they start wilting, I flipped the lights to dark. My thinking behind this is not only will it stress them out due to lack of water it will also slow down the dry/cure which is a good thing.

Currently im on day 9 of no lights & day 11 for no water. I’ve had my tent at 70F & 55rH. Now, I’m about to chop them down and hang them in my dry room at 60F/60rH. So far I’m liking the result

Interested to hear if anyone else has tried this out & their experience/outcome.
I did this when I was first experimenting with slow drying, it works great so long as all of your plants finish at the same time. I'd still be doing it if I didn't grow 4 different strains at a time. Now I cut at the base and hang dry the entire plant, then dry trim. If you leave them in the pot, it's the exact same idea, but you have the additional biomass of the root system to further slow down the drying process. The only thing I can add is, once you do cut them, check to see if they are ready to go in jars yet-it all depends on your RH, temps, etc. If you do need to hang them a bit more, check them daily to see if it's time to jar-you don't want to miss that window. I'm of the opinion that "low and slow" drying is way more important than curing, no contest, but for long term premium freshness, you want to get them in the jars somewhere between 55-60% rh. Glad to see people are still doing this! You'll end up with some primo smoke!

Has anyone tried splitting before meaning splitting the main stem somewhere near the base of the plant and maybe 2 inches up the plant. Contain the split on either end with a cable tie. Push something between the split stem to keep it open. Its said to increase trichrome production when done in the last few days before harvest. I've tried it on a few outdoor plants last seasons grow and it looked to me as it gave them a bit of a dazzle. I'm new to indoor growing so thought I'd ask around

Sounds like a Catholic thing or Voodoo, crucifying plants and driving nails in the stems (on a rising harvest moon, if you don't know the complete ceremony)

I tried a 10000K lamp at the end of flower a couple seasons ago. This is an older method, used with MH/HPS lights. It sorta made sense, UV stress to promote oils and such, so I tried it. I didn't see anything benefits. I've tried darkness, intense light at the end, but ive never seen any benefit that trumps good horticulture.
