Stuff your parents used to say and now you...

Mine too.My dad used to sing dirty songs and stuff.I memorized them.
One of them went something like:
In springtime,in springtime,in springtime of yore,
I met a fine lady who looked like a.......very fine lady
Asleep on the grass, she gently rolled over and showed me her....diamonds and rubies
And a little pet duck
She told me she'd teach me a new way to....bring up my children
And teach them to knit
While the farmer in the barnyard was shoveling.....food for the chickens
And cattle to eat
In springtime,in springtime, in springtime, so sweet.
No wonder Miss stoney has such wisdom. lol I can't repeat most of the thing I say that my old man said. He was a foul mouthed old cuss.

my dad used to always sing these dumb little things...
"there once was a dog and his name was sam, he pooped in the yard. i hit him and he ran!"

"greasy grimey gofer guts, mutilated monkey meat, yummy armadillo treat! thats what the vultures eat!"

my dad used to sing this to annoy my brother and me. he got it from slaughter-house five by kurt vonnegut, jr.

my name is yon yonson, i come from wisconsin,
i work in a lumber mill there.
and the people i meet ,
when i walk down the street,
ask me my name and i say:
my name is yon yonson, i come from wisconsin...

ad infinitum.

hey, i was just looking at this again and i realized i revived a two year old thread! i love it when that happens. maybe it's just me... but i never look at post dates until way later. whoooooops. :peace:

ps. i'm baked. :bigjoint:

noone plans to fail, they just fail to plan.

i HATED that as a kid, now i find it slipping out here and there

the one that i'm hoping not to start saying is he who refuses to be guided by the rudder, will be guided by the rocks

Whenever I would complain about anything, my dad would say, "Yup, life sucks...then you die". It used to piss me off, now it slips out whenever I hear someone complain.

The only thing my Dad would say to me, repeatedly, is "Who are you and where did you come from?" Used to always piss my mother off....I say it to my boys.

When I decide to have kids.. IF i have kids... I may or may not tell them that disneyland causes cancer... haha Just throwing that out there.. They would deserve a much more significant childhood memory im thinking... They would be able to watch the disney movies and all.. i wouldnt deprive them.. they will just know and understand its place as a corporation. and a material entity. :)

my dad's big one was "are you proud of yourself now?" and another that he use to sling out was "i hope you have kids as mean as you" my mom's favorite was "wait until your father gets home"

My dad always says "quit crying, it'll quit hurting when the pain stops". The one I most regret not listening to was "Do good in high school"...believe my kids will get fucking straight A's...weather they like it or not...cause my punishment is gonna be 10x worse then if you had just done the work in the first place...
