I have three plants that have been on a 12/12 cycle for 7 weeks. I started with a 36 hour dark hour period....but they still have showed no signs of sex. I've grown these strains before and they have showed sex well before this in the last grows. I've grown in this grow room before, there are no light leaks. I don't know what to do. I've never had plants take this long to show before. Are there any variables that could be affecting my plants that i don't know about?

leme get this straight. you waited for 7 weeks to post this thread? maybe the plants can't tell when the lights are on or off. how many watts you got? are there any machines in your growroom that have led lighting for it?

There has got to be something disrupting the dark period surely?
Even the longest flowering Sativas would have shown sex by now I'm sure.:???:

What strain are you growing?
What lights are you using?
Are you able to stand in the grow room when it's "lights off"? I you are jump in there, turn the lights off and then see if you have a dark room or not.

Have you considered increasing the dark period a little? Say 14 dark/10 light?

Are the plants still growing? If they are growing and continuing to veg, I would suspect a lighting issue. If they have completely frozen in time- ie not getting bigger, but not dying, just staying the same.. I would look at your pH or ppm.

Sorry about the attitude but you should know your problem already or at least have asked the answer before 7 weeks of nothing had gone by.

No my plants do not look like those with the leaves burned and curled up.

Come on, 7 weeks and you did nothing and I can't poke fun? SEVEN WEEKS I SAY with no hint of sex even, that is not fair if I can't poke fun at that then what can we?

i have grown successfully with this setup before. The only thing i've changed is adding a 70w hps. Yea i waited seven weeks because this is a busy time of year working 15 hour days an all, i kind of lost track of time. Finally today i noticed that it had been seven weeks.

They have been growing...EXTREMELY slow. They were growing like weeds...lol...till i put them into flowering.

My ph is sitting around 6 or 7. Like i said i've grown with this set up before and never had issues. Its been really cold where i live....when the light go off it probaby drops down to 60...could that be the issue?

no. that's fine, the temp doesn't really matter unless it gets into the low 50's(or you ight get some purp).

yea na its in the sixties....well i changed the lighting cylce to 14 dark to see if that will force them along the way. Atleast i have two auto flowering plants in there...i'll have something in a month or two.

bad idea, like trickyy said. you need 18+ hours of darkness. the disruption will only stop them from flowering

Acid, just to clarify, Autoflowers need as much light as possible to yield well, I go for 18light 6Dark.
I think Gotot typed 18+hours of darkness accidently.

Did you check if your room is definatley dark for your normal strain, the ones that aren't flowering?

how long did you veg for?

if you didn't veg for 4 weeks or more then this happens... the plant will only sex when it's ready.

for example if you went into 12/12 as a seedling it could easily take 7 or more weeks to show sex.

other than that they must be experiencing some kind of stress or environmental problem... are you sure it's been 7 weeks, you say you lost track of time, probably hasn't been 7 weeks.

and first two weeks or so of flower the growth should do anything but slow down, in fact you should see an explosion of vertical growth during that period esp. if it's a long flowering type like a sativa.

yea i don't know maybe i was high or somethin. 24/0 or 18/6 veg or 12/12(traditional) 11/13(replicate a synthetic light recession in the winter(i use this the whole time)) or even 10/14(for further recession) for flower

i'm not to worried about the auto strains......i got a ton of seeds from a buddy cause he couldn't grow anymore and i'm just kind of throwing them in whenever just to kind of go through them.

i vegged the regualar ones for 4 weeks. I have a height restriction...can't veg much more. But on a happier note bought myself a 150w HPS today..christmas gift for myself....would love to go bigger but i can't really vent any better.... :(

I don't know whats going on...i'll just let them do there thing.... they will do something eventually...i'll just hang out and let them do what they do best.
