i tried vortex at a shop, and well i would like to grow it myself to be the judge, seemed like it had real potential , of course this is just someone's cutting of the one they selected yadda yadda, all has to do with their vibe, i just didnt care for the grower is what it was, i think i may have to order it just to give it a go, never can judge a strain till u romp it yourself, well honestly i just wanted to type in the same space as subcool types, not trying to put him up on a pedistool or what not, i know for a fact noone is better than anyone, but when others realize it, just makes u smile lol live and learn thanks again subcool, and thanks jw, sorry to thread jack, i assume this is what im doing, so my bad mucho mucho gracias, wait anyway what do u use for ph down i got some white distilled vinegar, what do u use to keep it organic ? should i just get lime? just ranting thanks for everything cant wait till 4 months from now!

Hey Sub, I know me and you didnt start off on the right foot, but I just wanted to say sorry for not understanding what kinda B.S. you've dealt with in this thread. After asking my question and rubbing you the wrong way, I figured I should read the whole post just to get a better understanding of what goes into to your soil. I got annoyed for you, by the # of people asking "when do I add nute teas?" and "I know you said just water, but when do I use my ......". WoW can you say follow the directions any more clear. Any ways I'm about to mix up my first batch and I just thought I should says thanks. I also took advantage of the attitude offer at the beginning of the month and I can't wait to see JTR & 3rd D grown in its native soil.
Keep up the good fight, for every jackass asking silly question's there's a small % of us doing our best to try to be like Sub and grow the best medicine we can.

PS thanks for not being a huge dick to me, as you very well could have been, considering I was being semi-confrontional. :wall:

I want to thank you!
I am only about 1/3 of the way through this so please excuse me if I ask anything you have already addressed.
Its taking quite a bit of time to read as so many great ?s have been asked and answered.

I have not had my own garden going since college(15 years ago) but now that I am a certified caregiver here I am getting back to it.
I looked into hydro, hempy buckets, DWC, aeroponics but after finding your thread I clearly see I just need to get back to my old roots
and use the skills you have developed. I have always loved the taste soil gives Thank you for the great mix!!
I am going to go get on top of it ASAP so I can get my soil brewing.

1) Am I correct you are never doing anything to feed the plants after they are moved into from their 3 week cups into their 10 gal pots with the super soil?
How long will the super soil feed for or do I need to transfer from the 3 week red beer cup into another container for veg and then into the 10 gal for flower?
There is no need to ever use a tea or anything? Or when and what are you using? Worm castings on top or anything???

2) The soil you started with Roots, is there any other main stream name which would be in my basic gardening (not hydro) supply store?
What potting soil do you like to use for the top of the pot on top of super soil when transplanting?

3) Last ? did you rinse the coco and about how much water do you use when mixing the soil for cooking? Just a ballpark idea as this is my first time making a mix so I am really lost and as I said its been 15 years.

Thank you again!
I am sorry for asking any ?'s which will be answered when I get further into the thread but I must
get to work and have a VERY crazy day with family tomorrow BUT must get my soil cooking tomorrow
or Monday at latest to have it ready when my babies get here!!!

Correct!
How long will the super soil feed for or do I need to transfer from the 3 week red beer cup into another container for veg and then into the 10 gal for flower?
There is no need to ever use a tea or anything? Or when and what are you using? Worm castings on top or anything???
Just add water! Just add water! Just add water!

2) The soil you started with Roots, is there any other main stream name which would be in my basic gardening (not hydro) supply store?

Biobiz Light, Canna Bio, are the only two I know by name
What potting soil do you like to use for the top of the pot on top of super soil when transplanting?

Roots or Biobiz light

3) Last ? did you rinse the coco and about how much water do you use when mixing the soil for cooking? Just a ballpark idea as this is my first time making a mix so I am really lost and as I said its been 15 years.
No idea what your talking about here I do not add coco to the mix.

Good Luck

Thanks SuperCool (sorry SubCool just isn't proper haha)

In the very first post you wrote

"The Perlite and Coco I happen to have and it will make a better mix but it is not necessary."

So I assumed you used it and was considering adding it as well BUT you must not have used it or
not anymore if you did not know what I was talking about haha. No perlite or coco it is then,
I am sticking with a good thing, I see no reason to try to reinvent the wheel!.
I will be adding CO2 to my tent (monitored) it has helped in the past and I have easy access
to CO2

Thanks again SC!!! WOW I can't get over not having to feed at all... This should be NICE!

PS Reading more I see you have a book, it is possible to order autographed copies? If not I am gonna have to search Amazon for it.
You can send me a PM or Email through here if you want.

Read the fucking thread!:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Sorry if I sound grumpy, but every one of the questions you asked has been answered at least 5x over in this thread. :wall:

Smoke a bowl, ice down a 6 pack, get paper and pen, and settle in for a couple of hours of a very informative read. :peace:

For sure have the paper and pen, so you can at least note the post# or page# of information that is pertinent, as you will see a lot of the same questions being asked over and over from people to lazy to read.

You went to college, it's called research, so get to it!:mrgreen:

Yo Sub,
Just started reading the book tonight. I'm already on page 31 right now and i'm loving it! It's a great read, full of good descriptions and good stories, and lots of hands-on knowledge which will really come in handy in the future, when I can expand my grow area and I get comfortable enough to start to try breeding some of my own strains. Thanks a bunch bro!:bigjoint:

J Dubs

P.S. I would have loved to try one of your early batgirls, particularly the berry white phenotype. Peace

:clap::clap::clap::weed:

I'm impressed!

Really, someone who will actually get the book, read it and learn rather than ask the same lame questions over and over, till they get the answer they want to hear, even if it's not the correct one.:wall:

Your grow should be outstanding, simply because you are willing to do your research.:weed:

Actually by book does not teach about growing its a Coffee Table book of high res bud shots and the stories behind each strain. Its more a history of the strains I have grown out.
My second book titled The Laws of Cannabis is being edited right now but every bit of that information has already been posted on this site and many others for free.
The book of Dank is 100% Cannabis Porn

Subcool, I love the soil and am going to use it exactly as is. Just wondering though if you would use it with the Botanical Brothers buckets (bottom irrigation, of course Id water from the top the first few times.). They only make a 7 or 15 gallon, I think I would order the 15 and just fill it about 80% of the way. What you say? Would this method of buckets/watering still be effective for the distribution of nutrients in your soil and life of nutrients?

just finished up the thread and man alive was it full or great info, and basically all the questions i asked, thanks for answering about the greensand i now know to read the entire thread before i start typing, yes common sense and courtsey, lol. so new plan is mixing up batch starting clones letting them go 2 weeks then into 1 gallon pots for 2 weeks then into the soil almost half way then just follow video instructions looked like 10 gallons ima get them, and follow video instructions, my mom said she would order jc2 for me since i am broke for now but will try all of them at some point, cant wait to try out all them especially space bomb, and others of course. top dress with worm poo or whatever in veg ill look it up again then top dress day 30 of budding or when ever it needs it ill check alot, thanks for the help, i am gonna use hemp depot should be fine unless there is something that ships to cali faster san diego area if their is a shop u know of here that has your seeds, havent seen them tho. only thing i aint ifgure out is it sounds like u use citric acid for ph down beofe u water, is it that or lime, if u dont answer ill just get citric acid i guess, cause the vinegar i got, wasnt cool, should of researched more duh saw it on see more buds, turns out vinegar not good for soil lol, shell survive tho just tried it on one plant, take care and best wishes

UGH.

No it isn't. :(

Love you and all the help/strains and everything else but come on man!

It's not that hard. Now getting the huge tree's you need, yeah that's a little tough but growing for yourself doesn't have to be expensive.

Sorry but I would never buy anything from AN, they are just way overpriced for basically the same shit that's been out there for years.
