Biobiz is high because its imported from Canada and While I get an incredible deal at my local I am still paying 15

Using just Roots is a perfect alternative IMO
I use biobiz now because it has a slightly diff make up and I think the two combined roots and bio light make a great combo.

hey sub!

i'm on my second run using your soil and i've never had such healthy plants! thanks!

one question: I've noticed some burnt tips on some of the plants, it looks like nute burn but i haven't fed anything except water the entire grow. i suspect i either did not adequately mix the 'buffer layer' or maybe i put too much supersoil in.

i was planning to topdress with 2" of soil on day 30 since you say that in your experiences it always seems to help the plants. but considering i am experiencing nute burned leaves at day 14 flowering, what would you advise?

thanks!

hey subcool, I also dont have access to the roots organic, we only have sunshine, pro mix, and miracle grow.

If I was to use the sunshine mix no.2, how much oyster shell, what kind and where can I buy it?

also just wondering how you learned all this stuff, there is alot of info here.

Anyone know where in Sacramento, CA that I can buy Harvest Moon or Roots Organics soil? How about a quality alternative that I can use for the base soil to make SubCool's Super Soil?

he said his old recipe used sunshine#2 as the base and to add oyster shell to the sunshine mix.

Subcool, wouldn't i need to add alot more to the sunshine mix 2 than oyster shell? It has no nutes in it and the roots organic has all kinds of good stuff.

also you mentioned you made a typo with the blood meal which should read 2 kg, does this apply to the bone meal as well and the other one below it?

5# Blood meal

Excuse my lazinesskiss-ass, but figure its quicker to just ask my questions then browse 55 pages to see if they've been asked before.

I've found all the in stuff for the super soil in one place except for the humic acid powder and azomite any suggestions? I'm trying to save a lil cash on shipping 1 order instead of 2 or 3

Also I just wanted to make sure that using exactly half the recipe would be ok. I just dont need that much soil .

I'm hoping to have my soil mixed and baking asap cuz I've got some healthy young ladies on their way to become mothers, and the outdoor season right around the corner :hump:

It just seemed odd someone too lazy to read what I took time to write and illustrate with pictures that I took of plants I grew would want to start a method so work intensive.
Nothing I do is easy and people might as well know that going into it.

Azomite has a web site I found it by googling it
Humic is harder I get mine from a local organic dude.
Using 1/2 the recipe works just fine but why not make a batch for later it stores for a long time.

Lazy grower grow crappy pot FYI
OK I know your the mod around here and clearly way more expeirenced than me but, please explain why not wanting to read through 55 pages of people's response's that may not have any bearing on what I"m asking gives your the right to assume I grow crappy pot.

Indirect people never get answers and I asked what I needed to know, so how does that come off as lazy. I'm just wondering why you couldn't just answer my questions in the first place instead of taking a random shot a person who HAD respect for you?

I said excuse my laziness because I figured some punk would point out that 34 pages back someone asked that already. By no means am I trying to pick a fight or anything but I'm not just gonna let you call me lazy when you dont even know me or my bud. Ohh by the way I read everything YOU wrote in the first few pages, and I read your article in HT, I was trying to avoid reading all the BS that comes along with the forum instead I've become part of it.

Thanks for the recipe and the help next time I'll just keep my questions to myself

Well all I can say is your sig is at odds with your lazyiness comment
I was being Flippant.

How is my sig at odds with the fact that I wanted to get straight to the point and ask you, the person who made this soil recipe, a question about it.

I felt like I'd get a better answer if I asked my question instead of reading every page looking for a similar question. I had found the stuff for the soil by searching the web, I thought maybe you knew a site that carried all of it in one place . Thats all I meant, when I said excuse my laziness, I realized some people would maybe find that lazy. I find searching blindly when I can ask for exact answer's is a waste of time and energy.

I was hoping to be able to get advice from you, and I was trying to be humble by saying excuse my laziness. Instead now I look like a lazy dumb ass. I have the utmost respect for the work you've done and I would be lucky to be in a postion such as yours one day. I guess I just rubbed you the wrong way. I hate it when my less informed friends think growing is just soo easy, so I can see how a lazy grower might piss you off. But I swear that aint me, a newbie no doubt but far from lazy

Ph balances at 7 or so EC is 4.1
hi there sub. im looking to do my first grow outdoors and im going to be using a strain called the church from gh and i want to use this organic soil for them .

the strain itself i believe during flowering the ph is 5.5 and the ec is 1.8 so i think this would fry them. is there a way i can bring this down by n e chance during this period or would this mix be it be ok? if not what mix would you recommend best for this strain. i know you probly get loads of these already from other peeps and i would be grateful for n e help you could give me.

regards perk

You wont be happy with that strain but thats another story.
The 5.5 and 1.8 EC thing is BS IMO virtually impossible to predict what a strain/plant will want.
With strains that can't tolerate a warmer soil like ours we simply use less of it in the lower portion of the container and use a plain soil base in top.
If it needs more food later I simply top dress.

hey arsenal, i hear you. i do just like you did. i'm not gonna read 50 pages of mostly unimportant info. after you take out all of the "man, nice pics," there's not that much sub-stance. but i believe you did it in a proper manner. people like sub get asked buku questions and i guess at times it can get monotonous answering the same questions over and over.

hi sub thanks for you reply. so im gunna maybe use half, little less maybe of your mix and that should be ok yea?.. so u said that i wont like that plant, have you grown it before then. i cant seem to get much info on other people growing it so its like a mystery strain but there is a few people on RIU that have had good results, i just cant seem to get a reply from them. the reason that i have choose this strain because i live the uk and as you probly know the weather is pretty shit so with the good mold resistant quality it seem like a good idea. the other strain i was thinking bout was the ams but im not sure. have u got n e ideas.

Yes stop looking at over marketed Dutch gear that is pretty much Swag and look into some real medical genetics.
Green House is a joke dude Shanti left with his clones 6 years ago
No serious grower grows anything from the dutch bro its well known on the internet

As far as a recommendation what are you looking for in a strain taste, yield, potency, a specific relief?

the reason to read 50 pages is to learn information. he also said the longer the batch brews the better it is. so even if you make more than you need it will only get better with time as the micro beasties work in the soil.ive got a batch that has been brewing a couple of weeks. i hope all works out well.im sure it will.
i dont think ive asked a question one..the thread is well written to where i dont have to..just follow the instructions. if you need to modify the amounts just ajust the ingredients/amounts accordingly.azomite i had a hard time finding so got it off of ebay.
