Sun light vs one cfl

Is a 4" inch plant getting more light from:
one 26w cfl 2" away
or
the sun?

because my friend and I had some bagseed and my friend barley germinated his seed and put it in a clear cup at his window sil. It waters it every couple days and gets direct sunlight. His plant is only two weeks old and has many more leaves than mine does, yet my plant is a month old. My plant is inside a rubbermaid container with mylar and one cfl. So was curoius why his might be growing so well and why mine may be growing so poorly. Would ventaliation make this much of a difference? thanks

P.S: friends plant = couple set of leaves that are almost an inch big. and my plant only has two sets of leaves and are tiny. My plants a month old and looks like its only a week old.

1 cfl isn't really doing much for it..and yes ventilation is a big factor when it comes to growing!...and tell ur buddy to transplant out of that clear cup ASAP! roots dont want light at all! only the plant itself does...if u get a few more cfls in that rubbermaid bin u'll be golden..then cut a hole in the "top side" and put a small fan in there for exhaust...then cut a small hole nn the "bottom side"..and it will suck in fresh air from the sucktion of the exhaust..good luck man!

C'mon man,do you really have to ask why plants grow faster in the sunlight over an artifical light source?

use any fan man...just go ghetto status! cut a hole on both sides and stick any kind of fan at one end...and it'll blow air threw the whole thing...not to be a dick but COMMON SENSE meen anything to u?!?

I have to agree with people in this post. Dude you need to be smart here, set down the bong take a breath and think for 2 seconds (it sucks I know but duuuuuuude).

CFL's are not going to get that hot you can probably use a regular fan to cool them down (and it will provide nice movement of air for your plants).

You will not be able to keep that plant growing well with 1 CFL, try and get as many setup around it as you can.
