Just wanted to share my experience with these lights:

I have four of the 54 watt t5's and a bunch of the cfl;s. The t5's are top notch in my opinion. I paid 30 bucks each for em. They have the following specs...
Bulb Type Watts Base Type Detail Spec T5 54 Miniature Bi-Pin (G5) Initial Lumens ≥ 4800LM Mean Lumens ≥ 4700LM Voltage 120 V Rated Life ≥ 10,000 hours Nominal Length 1171mm Color Temp (Kelvin) 6400K CRI ≥ 80 Mercury (Hg) content ≤ 3.0 mg
So with 4 of these running it get 18800 lumens at just over 200 watts, not too shabby! They generate very very little heat, less than my t8's. I REALLY wish they had these guys in the 2700k flave but they do not
The results thus far have been outstanding. Tight internode spacing, lush, fast growth. On average I get at least 1/2-1" per day....
