Sunrise/Sunset Questions...Do we get enough sunlight?

Hello,

I live in Texas outside of the Houston area. I've been growing indoors for several years, and I'm venturing outdoors this season. I was looking at some sunrise/sunset tables at sunrisesunset.com and noticed that in June we only get about 14 hours of sunlight a day...even on the solstice which is the longest day of the year, right? I was planning on putting the babes in the ground around the first of June, so I was just wondering if anyone had any input or experience growing in this part of the country.

Thanks in advance.

That does not make since, Im in Va and we get quite good lighting, like 18 near the solstice(maybe, but close to 18 for sure).

Your gonna want atleast 16 hours, but 5 hours of strong direct sunlight is whats importent. If you drop below 14 though, the girls will start to flower

I thought so too, but looking at the tables would suggest otherwise. Is there something I'm missing?
