Ok first off.. wife likes a toke just like I do however we have kids and she is UBER parinoid about growing. soo.. its up to the balzy me to do it under her nose. Im working up to a very by the book grow. i have obtained a nice heavy duty metal cabinet that is 72" tall, 2' deep and 3' wide to make my grow. i cant do this in the house, i would be rooted out quick as hell. but i have a unattached garage to do this in whom.. really im the only one that ever enters. its a 2.5 car garage but it is not insulated. My concern is starting to seed/ germ now puts me at a winter flowering. idk how well i can control the heat in the space of the locker. i am planning on a 400w HPS setup (air cooled bulb) but could cycle the air cooled w/ thermostats if the space temp needed it in cold weather. I was also looking at a bubbleponic/drip setup and water temp was a concern. i can and planned on insulating the cabinet before lining it w/ mylar. im looking for ideas on this topic as at this point i have been flying solo. I do have some money to spend and have been working the idea over for a long time. That said im NOT rich enough to drop hundreds of dollars in money not to mention time for a failed project lol ~! I can set up my cabinet to do almost anything. my current plan was to use FLourecent lights at the top of the cabinet for clones/mothers. bottom w/ 400w. air cooled fan for VEG. All this is simple. my concern is the cold temps and what i should look out for... this i ask you professional opinions. My seperated garage is not heated. while i can rely on my HPS bulb to warm the cabinet i agree... i dont know what i can expect w/ cold incoming air when the exhaust fans activate (via timer) or what water temp in the holding tank i sould expect.

I cant count the number of times i have seen on this website (and others) that say DONT let your wife know about your grow...

i dont know, i can just imagine her being more pissed you kept it from her than the fact and consequences of your garden

Eh... what my wife dosent know wont hurt me. im looking small... very small scale anyway. in a place she simply does not go. my risk is minimal. and worst case .. she jumps my ass and forces me to give it up. and if it came to that i would. BUT.. haha. and this part i laugh at. you all dont know my wife. like i said. she enjoys a toke but simply dosent want to be a part of it. personally i dont find much risk at growing your own herb, providing your smart enough to keep it to yourself. My wife is not the hard core militant conservitave wife. Truth be told whe was a Exotic Dancer in Dallas when we married lol! so she very aware of whats going on. Bottom line.. she paranoid for the kids. and that can be overcome by keeping my shit seperated from the family. imo. of course even this can be taken to any degree. im confident that i can do this on my own w/o getting busted. thats the bottom line.

hate to say it but your goin to get Busted for sure. Woman in general are very nosey and ur goin to have to sneak around too much and its goin to happen, they act like they arent watching but they are. Im not tryn to jinx you at all just stating the facts.Good luck and i hope im wrong.

Why dont you just do a guerilla grow? that way its not in your home and your wife wont find out

lol gota do wat ya gota do good luck man,you will find in summer the temps will sore,using a cooltube drawing cool air from outside the shed will help imensley,can be done,use fluros if you have to,run the fluros during the day time,and have ya 400 switch on in the cooler night time period,say ya flowering from 8pm-8am should be fine,to keep the veg state use fluros for the other 6 hours ..theres always a way gl

for flowering in the winter if you set your cab up so that the lights are on at night during the cold temps and shut off during the day. when your lights shut off turn off any exaust/inlet fans and make sure its sealed well. the room temp should sustain slowly dropping during the lights off period. but the temps should stay within range until the lights turn back on to warm things up. it would be nice to do a test run at this to help you tweek things as needed instead of doing it with your girls in there at risk.

No way you pull this off. Once you start growing you are going to want to visit the plants six times a day. You don't think she'll notice you going so often to this place she never goes?

way to be a loving husband.
your wife is thinking of the well being of her family, not just about getting high.
you should respect that and not grow.

what if you do get busted?
you go to jail and they take your kids.
then your lust for a few ounces of weed has completely ruined your life.
give this one some good thought man.

I guess i could. but mainly because... the season is over now and secondly because i have no freekin idea where i would grow it ... not to mention the area where i live is basically a big fkn rock idk how normal vegitation grows around here.

Solid valid points from everyone. And yes the risks probably are more than im willing to deal with if caught. Even if I think i did think i could keep it from the wife. This gives me a lot to ponder.
