Supplementing HPS with CMH?

So I have a 15x10 area I am going to be running 12 plants in 5 gallon smart pots. I was thinking about running 1x 1000w hps in the center (or possibly on a light rail as well) and two 315w CMH on light rails. My main question is a few of my friends that run strait CMH say they need to use a lot less nutes when running them, anyone else have experience with this, and if so running HPS and CMH will there be a big difference in nutrient strengths needed in the room? or is it complete bullshit and the plants need the same amount of nutrients no matter what kind of lighting is being used? Thanks in advance for any info in advance!

How high are you ceilings? If you were going to do HPS i would do DE.

That is a huge space and i would think you would need alot of light even if you use movers I think i would skip the movers.
If you are in a free state your best bet would be 6 DE hps lights for a space like that. Now that is alot of Juice.
Ideally i think you would even want a little more light then that.

Now i think with you could crush that area without using any hps i think 16 Cmh fixtures at 5040 watts would be amazing and i pretty sure you could pull over 1lb per light if your ceilings are high enough.

if you mix them you could do two DE 1000watts on movers surrounded by stationary CHM's i think you could cover the area with like 4000w. I wish i had space like that to play with.
I just dont see 1000w being enough even if you have it on a mover. I would have two lights on movers one on each side of the room and plenty of CHM around it.

As for Chm and nutes My plants seem to drink way less under them but so i have to water less. That is the only way i see it making a difference on nutes.

If you are really serious about rocking a space that size im sure we could graph out a few different options.
