Attempts to delay the New Hampshire Republican recount are provoking some to suspect state officials are engaging in chicanery in a ploy to scupper the entire process and derail the recount, ensuring it goes the same way as its Democratic equivalent did last week.

That's all well and good, but look what GR is in favor of. He's actually supporting a man who's running for public office who's trying to sue various media outlets that are privately owned because he doesn't feel they covered his efforts enough. Should the government (the courts) force the free press to cover more? Cover less? How about the government just dictating what the media prints and shows on TV and be done with it?

Not dissing anyone here at all ... just asking questions. :)

Like the Fairness Doctrine............

The Fairness Doctrine was a United States FCC regulation requiring broadcast licensees to present controversial issues of public importance in a manner deemed by the FCC to be honest, equitable and balanced. The doctrine has since been withdrawn by the FCC, and certain aspects of the doctrine have been questioned by courts.

Communism = Government ownership of all means of production and distribution.

Fascism = The illusion of private ownership with strict government oversight and control.

I hear you loud and clear. The liberal side is always screaming "free speach" untill it bites them in the ass. I am all for GR supporting the conservative in an election, but as usual its in his own unamerican way.

Actually, I don't see Ron Paul as a conservative at all. I see him as a person who recognizes the path to liberty. If RP was a true conservative, the Right-Wing media outlets like Fox News, Conservative Talk Radio ... and the Republican Party in general would have given him a LOT more coverage instead of treating him with such disrespect as they did.The reason they didn't is because the ideas RP espoused scared the crap out of them. Think about it; Eliminate the IRS and replace it with nothing? Abolish the Federal Reserve and return to private banking and gold-backed money? Cutting federal spending to the bone and dissolving the Welfare State? Return power to the states? Bind the federal government with the chains of the Constitution?

If RP got elected, and somehow found a way to get his ideas enacted, the entire house of cards built over the past 90 years by our liege lords in both the Democrat and Republican Parties would come crashing down ... right along with the power they so much enjoy. :)

Exactly why he never had a chance. Not only does he step on the governments toes, he steps on the toes of those who rely on that same government for sustenance. That and he gets a little wacky sometimes in the things he espouses. :mrgreen:

I think that Paul is too conservative for the mainstream media. If power went back to the states, then they lose out on the "Washington tonight" headlines. What would they talk about on CNN if Washington meant nothing. Thats what scares them.
