Swap CFL for Cool Tube

Hi buds i have been vegging in a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.0 meter tent under 4x125 watt blue CFL bulbs, however plants are all getting big now and the penetration of CFLis crap. My question is i have been given a cool tube but it doesn’t have the little wings on it can it still use it without them also how much warmer will it be, In another room i have 2 600s open hoods and it is sometimes cooler than it is in my tent under CFL, I have a 6 inch fan 465cfm for extraction of heat threw light and out the window and i have a 4 inch fan rated at about 185-200 cfm. I was going to use this for intake as at minute i just have ducting no fan, not sure if i should attach my carbon filter into the mix as its only veg and smell is little to none thanks for any advice buds.

hi, ive just done a similar thing with cool tube, i took the reflector from my 250w cfl and drilled the rivits out that held the lamp holder, then fitted the wings to the cool tube, works great, so much better then the little bat wing things they use, and i can refit the cfl shade back together with a couple of small bolts, if you havent got a shade, have a look in the diy section, youll be amazed at what some do!! i would remove any internal reflector from the tube as they are pants, but if you have no shade could you not hang vertical?? attach filter as needed id say, only you know your situation though (be safe)
2x 600 open hoods cooler then 6 cfls??? they must be some big cfls lol!!!

they are 125 watts lumi bulbs and theres 4 think its cause its in tent and the open hoods are in a 10x10 foot space bud could i not just use the cool tube as is without a reflector for a few days till pay day then buy a cool hood bud is it safe to run without the bat wings

sorry for delay mate, but yes its safe, the wings are there to act as a reflector, you might find that your loosing lumens, but yes its safe
