Day 17 after switching lights
Got em all flushed within the past few days. They shouldn't need to be flushed again untill after the first week of shooting powder, you're supposed to flush every week when using shooting powder anyways so that works out perfectly.
I might start using the Bud XL tomorrow instead of going up to 9ml of each base nutrient. The feeding chart doesn't call for it untill week 4 but I think that I read on their site that you start using it when buds are visible.I'll have to go check on that again first.
Anyhow, here goes a few pics(the first one is the same pic from a couple days ago, just trying to show the mother plant in comparison to the size of the others)I rearranged the plants again.

Day 19 after switching to 12/12
Just a quick update...
I did start using Bud XL yesterday,I also stopped using the roots excelurator
The sweet tooth clones are about 13 inches tall and 15-20 inches wide. The mother is 2 1/2 feet tall and about 15 inches wide.I didn't measure the orange kush because it's way back in the corner, but it most definitly stretches more than the sweet tooth.
I took a few pics but the only good one got erased from the camera somehow,so I'll probably do another update tomorrow.

Day 20 after switching lights to 12/12
There are quite a few pistols on the sweet tooth and the orange kush seems to be lagging(although I don't know how long it's supposed to take, this is more or less a test run for the orange kush).I was hoping the orange kush would finish around the same time as the sweet tooth,so far that doesn't seem to be the case but maybe it's a quick finisher.
I moved the lights up a little more.I don't know if it's just me but it seems that the lights are still bleaching them, which is kind of wierd because my last grow I was keeping them much closer to the light.I was of course growing a different strain then,so maybe that's why.
I said fuck it and went up to 9ml of each base nutrient tonight.
I managed to get some pictures to save to the camera and here they are.The last one is a healthy female Grape Krush seedling.I'm growing a few of these out, hopefully I come across a good phenotype as I will keep it for a mother and flower the rest next time around.

I'm 95% sure it's the lights. It's happening sooner to the ones under my 430w bulb and ballast than the ones under the 400w.I had them really close compared to most other people using 400w lights but I remember my last crop being like 5 inches away before bleaching had occurred. That again was only under one 400w light, now I have two and one is actually 430w(I didn't really think the extra 30w would make that big of a difference).Anyhow, they are about 9 inches away from the lights now and from what I've read that's still too close lol.
Are you thinking sulfur deficiency? That's a possibility,I am however using a little over a tablespoon of epsom salt when mixing up two and a half gallons of solution.I figured that would be fine unless H&G has absolutely no sulfur or magnesium in it already.

Love your journals! I'll definitely be following this one. Thank you thank you thank you for posting the number day of veg/bloom with each photo set. I used your previous journal to match against my own girls to see just how much they were set back (we had the power go out for over 4 days)...

Anyway, I wish more people would post the day number to give you a point of reference. It would love for someone to create a Grow Journal site that tracks updates by day and commenting is added to each individual update rather than a giant forum. It's so hard to find anything! But I digress, I don't want to jack your thread here!

Just wanted to say thank for the consistent journal updates! Great photos and your girls always look very happy :)

I've never had light bleaching occur like that, so I'm no expert on the issue. It's also a bit hard to tell from the pics. But one way you could check would be to add a tbl/gal of epsom along with your regular nutes, to just one plant (that has it the worst), and see what happens.

I have added 1tbl/gal of epsom before without any problems.

Thanks Bud!
I too think the day # is very necessary, especially because this journal is also a guideline for my friend and I in the future. If it ends up being good, then we'll probably keep it around for awhile.
There's just one thing, this is my first journal bro.Maybe you have me confused with somebody else?
Don't unsubscribe though, the more the merrier.

And thank you too Joe,hopefully my buds will be looking like yours in a couple weeks here!:-P

Bigbong,I know the pics don't show it that good,my brothers camera sucks lol.The leaves are a light yellow color at the tops, they aren't twisting ,curling,or contorting in any way.
I will indeed up the epsom salt, although I will probably only go up to 2 tsp per gallon.

Day 22 since switching to 12/12
Now at 9.5 ml of each base nutrient,3.8ml of bud xl,3.8ml of multi zyme and 2 tsp of epsom salt per gallon of water. They are eating it right up,there are actually a couple yellowing leaves at the bottom of a couple plants.
There is a better pic of the "bleached" leaves, new growth seems to be looking better.
I also took some pictures while taking cuttings tonight.

Looking great man, the light bleaching don't look to bad.. :joint:
Mine did the same on my first grow under lights..didn't realise just how hot it gets under those 400W HPS lights!
Great step by step guide on the clones by the way, very simple but there aint much to it really if you know what you're doing, right..
Can i ask why you trim the leaves on your clones?

:peace:

Thanks Joe!
Yeah,I'll be keeping them about 10" from the lights from now on.
Cloning is just as you said quite simple.Just chop it,dip it,plant it and trim it,keep humidity high and temp around 70-80F.
I trim the leaves on large cuttings to slow down photosynthesis, this promotes root growth.I don't do it do smaller cuttings as they do not have much leaf surface.

Day 24 of flower
I noticed a few spots on a couple plants tonight.I'm hoping that they're just burned from having them too close to the lights before and I hadn't noticed, with so many leaves in such a small area that's very possible, but It could also be a nutrient burn or even a magnesium deficiency. However, like I said before there a few yellowing leaves at the bottom of them, leading me to believe it's not a nute burn. And I have been using epsom salt so I doubt it's a magnesium deficiency.Hell, maybe my PH meter took a shit and I have lockout issues.
I stopped using multi zyme tonight.
The fifth pic shows the brown spots(this leaf has it the worst out of the few that have it so far),the 6th showing an obvious N def,and the last showing the cuttings taken two days ago.The grape krush is the one drooping a little.I've read this strain can be a pain in the ass to clone, hopefully she pulls through. All of the sweet tooth cuttings are looking good.

Day 26 after switching the lights
I backed down to 9ml of each base nutrient last night.I was a little paranoid after seeing the problem on a couple leaves.I'm pretty sure it's a burn from the lights,I took another pic of the same leaf,it looks the same to me.

No worrys.. :joint:
