Switching from hps to mh, slowed growth?

I currently have 1 TGA vortex under a 400w MH, it was previously under a 600w hps . Still vegging for 2 more weeks so decided to purchase the MH. My girl has been under the MH for 2 days I had been expecting a burst in growth & I've yet to see any. Does switching light stunt growth/stress the plant? I've only grown under hps & cfl sorry for the noob question lol

HPS makes them grow lankier in the first place, MH gives them thicker stems and less vertical growth, less light grows less plant. You went from a higher wattage bulb that grows taller plants to a lower wattage bulb that grows shorter plants.

Yes I understand the height difference with hps promoting stretching but if I'm not mistaking mh should promote foliage growth, but correct me if I'm wrong. Now yes she has slowed in vertical growth which I expected but I also don't notice any difference in the size of fan leaves which I do expect . . . I'll give it a couple more days. . A thanks for the reply Jbone
