Switching from outside sunlight to indoor UFO led ??

I have been growing two plants outside on the Balcony. One Dinafem fruit Auto, the other is CH9 Critical Mass 33. The Autoflower is already flowering but
it has become a pain moving the plants out of site when people come over. So I built a grow closet. It has intake fan and an exhuast fan with carbon filter.
Mylar walls and I am using a 90W UFO light. I just moved the plants inside last night after it got dark and I am keeping the same light schedule they were on outside. 18/6. Just want top know if I will shock the plants from this or was this a bad idea. I have grown before but never with LEDS and never having to move from outside to inside or vise verse. A little help please
Thanks guys. Will post some pic a little later

It's been my experience that the 90 watt led UFO lights strait up suck for flowering. First mistake I ever made when I started growing. Even a nice 50/50 hybrid strain (nirvana ice) couldnt flower good enough under that light. Total waste in my opinion! I'd roll with CFCs if I was on a tight budget for a closet space...

Thanks for the post, anybody have any positive results with the 90W UFO led? I will take a look into the CFC's though

Hi NCBMORE. Without knowing what brand of UFO and the exact height of your plants I would say there's no way you're finishing those plants with just a 90 watt UFO (real draw is closer to 45 watts I bet), especially plants that have come from outside. They appear too tall for that light and to me that means there's just not going to be enough light penetration. Plus it's not enough wattage for your grow area from what I can tell. My suggestion if you want to keep using the UFO would be to get some T5s, (or T8s if space is tight), to add for side lighting. Good Luck and Be Safe!

This sucks, last time I had a closet with a 600w HPS nowI am reduced to this. I will turn these two into an experiment I guess, I have more dinafem fruit seeds, So since this one is two weeks out I will continue this way. Leave the Critical Mass in there and after I pull out the Fruit add in 4 42W CFL's to help it out. I will keep you guys informed on how it turns out. I am hoping the Auto will do ok, its already flowering pretty good and forming some nice frost. Hopefully the ruderalis genetics pull through. Thanks for all the post. Next grow I will start up a Journal and learn from my mistakes in this tight space

OK getting 3 23W 6500k CFLs and 3 20W 2700K CFLs. I hope that will do the trick.. Tell me what you think?

It looks like you got some space for CFLs. My problem with CFLs, and I just stopped using them, is you've got to keep adjusting them so not to burn the plants. T8's and, I believe some T5s, you can let the plants touch them. You could put the T5/T8s in the corners but it's your call. Still UFO/CFL grows do work well enough. Good Luck!

When my seedlings sprout sometimes they will shoot right up and touch the lights for 24 hours or more and they dont burn... I use all 6500k and one 2700k aquarium light that I have. Feel your CFLs, you should be able to grab them and not be burned.

Changed my mind and ordered 6 T5's instead, 3 6500k and 3 2700k. Have to save some space. Going to top the critical Mass tomorrow and start tying down branches. Should have done it sooner. The pistils are starting to show on it as well. I have to go out of town for 2 weeks, what should I about watering?

Good call on the T5s.

On Amazon there's an automatic feeder system that works for two weeks and it isn't that expensive. If all else fails you could use that. Good Luck!

Ok so I got the bulbs in, but now I have to figure out how to wire them. DO I need a ballast? I ordered the T52012-06-15 14.25.48.jpg2012-06-15 14.25.41.jpg bulbs, sockets, and a on off power switch separtly. Need some help. Thanks in advance. Trimmed off some branches to allow for more light. Here is a photo. Again not the best I will try moving them to another room next time I take a photo.

I do need ballast. I just ordered them should be in this week. I accidently gave my fruit auto a little fertilizer, 2 days ago. It wasn't much but I have to harvest it soon. Hopefully by the end of this week, cause I leave for vacation next sunday for 11 days. Sucks cause I dont want to rush it. Also have to top the critical. I cut it yesterday but Ihave to go lower as today it grow fast and is touching the light. Out growing its available space, oh well it was a freebie and a learning experiance. Next time I will go for the scrog method.

Sunday I am harvesting the fruit. I have added in the 6 lights finally. Switched the cycle from 18:6 to 16:8 and tomorrow night I will go into 12:12. Also gonna top the critical and take a clone since it is getting way too big for my space. Will put some photos up soon

After my vacation I have returned to a dying critical mass :(. The automatic water feeder did not work. I have trimmed off many branches, Also placed the flower pot into a bucket of water as it was completely dry. Switched the lighting back to a more vegative state. I don't know if she will make it but we shall see. I have dried the fruit auto while away and rolled a nice one up last night. I must say it was very smooth tasting and had a great lasting effect. If the critical mass dies I will start up the last to fruit auto seeds I have. Hopefully will have better gains with the newly added lighting. I ended up with 15gms dry. Looking into lowryder and earlygirl.

^^^^Well that sucks about the critical, but cannabis can come back from a beating so hopefully in this case it will. And what auto-feeder did you use?

It was a generic one, you screw the cap on bottle and turn it upside down. Suppose to add 300ml a day. I had a 2 liter bottle on it. Something plugged up the hole. I tossed it, now looking into getting a small pump, if I have to leave them again for a few days. the critical mass is completly dead though. So I have just put my last 2 fruit auto seeds in paper towel to germenate them. Hopefully in the next day or two I will be putting them in some soil. Also found that the heat in the closet was way to high. So I was set up for failure. The six lights I added in to help it flower, made the room to hot even though you could touch the bulbs. Starting a journal though tonight.
