Hogwash. I've decimated males in physical combat, to the point of being out of breath/disoriented/covered in blood, and I've simply gone on home, had a long shower, and enjoyed a loving evening with my wife and dogs.
Felt even better the next day, in fact; perfectly relaxed and at peace.

Oh, I came to terms with that shit years ago, it's why I never (ok, rarely) lay hands on someone in that capacity. When I was in my 20s, a friend of mine informed me that a guy I'd smacked around and humiliated a few nights earlier had apparently went home, no doubt filled with shame and misplaced rage, and took it all out on his wife/family.

It's not as if 'releasing' in that way feels good or in any way pleasurable at the time, but as I said, if the lowlife in question sets off all sensors/triggers, I simply no longer care at that point.
There have been several occasions where I held back only to avoid dying in prison.
