no they are not made for growing but yes they work better than T8 and a little worse than t5.

where did you get that kind of information.the t of the bulbs represents 1/8 of an inch diameter. So a t-12 is 12/8 or 1 1/2" diameter the t-8 is 1" and the t-5 kicks ass. If larger diameter were an indication of efficiency we would be using t-35's. Please check the accuracy of your information. VV

true. But if you look on the packages and compare T5 come in first T12 second and THEN T8 as far as lumens put out by each bulb.

yeah man thats what im saying. for $30 a fixture that holds two bulbs that put out about 2000 lumens a piece you can put several of them together and they work great for growing. i have 6 bulbs vegging 10 plants and rooting clones etc..... for my sog flowering room under and they work just fine.

at home depot its only 10 bucks for the shoplight, and like 4-6 bucks for the bulbs.... decent for vegging... wouldn't recomend for flowering...

used them all throughout the grow for my first go around, adding some 23w cfls for flower... now i'm just using them for veg of clones and moms as i have an hps for flower...

i would recomend getting both warm and cool spectrum lights...
