I gotta 15 watt 3100k T8 plant/aquarium light.

Just curious if these are any good at all for growing, I've heard some bad stuff, just tryin' to verify that info..

Thanks for answers or comments, cheers!:joint:

Going from memory of light spectrum article I am pretty darn sure that the plants don't "see" 3100. With Flouros it should be 6500 Bright for vegging and 2700 warm and white for flowering

Really? I've heard of a lot of people using 3100k spectrum bulbs...for vegging. And yeah the 2700s for flowering i knew that.

But I also read somewhere else on this forum that 3100ks are for flowering because they're considered "warm white" still....

Haha I really don't know someone should step in with some infanite knowledge about lights

as far as i know if its between 2000k(ish) and 7000k(ish) it will be fine in any stage, even though the higher of the range works better for veg, lower end for flower. its not until you reach numbers like 10,000k that shit gets unseeable (or below 2000k).

i could be wrong, but this is what i was told.

I would love to know the answer to this as well. I have 4 T8's and 2 T5s in a closet grow--single plant, but I'm paranoid about not having enough light.

yeah i actually just sprouted 2 seeds with the single t8 mentioned above. Seems to be bright enough for early plant development but yer gonna need to kick up the light after a minute.

I also just added another CFL tonight to shine on those brand new seedlings to maybe help them grow faster and NOT stretch! i have another plant in veg close to 2 weeks old that stretched like crazy at first but is back on a very healthy road. Just pushed out her 5-set leaves.

So to actually answer your question, you should be pretty straight with that amount of light. Just make sure they're pretty close to your plants because tube bulbs emit light on a bigger area than, say, a CFL or any smaller bulb.
