Taking a clone from a late flowering plant?

Ok so what is the point of no return if any for taking clones off flowering plants? Say if a plant was flowering 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks.
And if done late in flowering like say 4 weeks would it have ill affects to the clone?

iv'e takin clones from a bubba kush 6 weeks into flower.......with substandard results. it takes a while to root and revert back to veg...not to mention it is more prone to mold and other diseases.

you can clone pretty much indefinitely. the farther into flower, the harder it is to clone/the longer it will take to root, revert to veg etc.. just like the above poster stated. hard to keep leaves misted and humidity up w/o getting bud mold. the sooner and earlier into flower the better. pref when they are just showing hairs and not buds.

Does anyone know about how much longer it takes to root/revert to veg? I'm looking at having to take clones off my buddies BK's that are at 4 weeks flower here this weekend.

for me it took about a extra 3 weeks to a month but if you don't want to lose the genetics it's worth it!!!

Cool thanks for the answers, there are two out of the 15 that are just monsters and have handled LST'ing pretty well so I really hope I can get a clone or two to turn back to veg and use them for mothers.
