taking a clone

quick question.

I don't have any experience with cloning. Never taken a clone before.

Never wanted to.. but anyhow.

I have an idea of how to do it.. i dont need

any help getting through the process.. I just

have one question about it.

It says.. make sure that when taking your cutting.. when your actually making the cut..
do so at a 45` angle. well, is there an easier way to tell what angle im cutting at?

I suck at math and angles.. shit like that I just stupid with.. never was good at math.

thanks for any advice/comments/help

peace.

All that's for is to increase the surface area of the cut. More surface area for roots to start from = better chance of roots starting. Just try and cut it off at an angle is all, don't cut it straight across.

/ is the best way to describe it i guess. Make sure u put it in water right after u cut it to prevent and air bubble. Also id recommend getting a powder rooting hormone as appose to a gel as the gel has a tendency to get contaminated very easily. Wait a day or two and if they are standing by themselves they should root within the next week or so if put in a humidity dome and misted once a day

ah alright.

i thought there was something to the whole cutting at a `45dgr angle.

Thought maybe it was vital for the clone.. to be cut at that specific angle.

thanks dudes.:peace:

I actually like to make a few cuts on the end of the stem, so it has a large surface area but doesn't have a pointy end. If you make an angled cut on one side then a similar cut on the opposite side, it's more of a blunt wedge shape. This is less likely to get damaged when you stick it in the medium and I think it probably heals better. If it's still kind of pointy, I'll make a third cut or even a fourth. Can't say for sure if it's better than a single cut. The pointy ends just look too delicate and easily damaged to me.

it did take me a while to master cloning and i found using a water heater and air pump in my water helped alot
as it kept the water warm and kept the water oxygenated just for future reference

hey.. appreciate the advice. Never thought about using an air pump.. and sticking the air line into the water... for Oxygen. Nice thinking bro.. and thanks again. :)
