Supposedly the tea party movement was originally brought on by angry americans who were tired of our overtaxing government. It was created as a vehicle to voice the opinion of the participating people to both political parties. Not primarily against the democratic party but both equally.

The tea party movement was co-opted by the conservative party, through talk radio and mainstream media. And has now converted it into a republican movement.
Key speakers like Sarah Palin who is on the payroll for the John McCain 2010 senate re-election bid. Glenn Beck trumping up the tea party movement with his media power. The republican party arranged for the supposed participants of the tea party movement to gather at the capitol the day they were to sign the health care reform bill. So they can use the people as a political gamepiece.

Why are these tea party participants allowing these media types and politicians to speak at thier rallies? If they want to be heard than they themselves should be at the podium speaking on thier own behalf. Otherwise all you have is the same talking heads telling them what to believe. And right now the only message they have to sell is that you and everyone should be angry at the democratic party for the aggressive spending and policies they seek to implement.

Fact is if this was a real movement (the tea party) started by the people for the people than it would not get any coverage. This movement was started by conservatives who wish like I said to use angry americans as a means of securing more seats in the November elections.

Left, Right, politics is all a game. Think of it like a game of chess, Left wing on one side and the right on the other. We don't get to participate. We only get to pay for it. The only difference in this game from others is that there is only one person or group of people, unknown to us, playing against themselves so they can never lose. Global control of finance, agriculture, commerce, labor, social programs and so on is the ultimate prize for the player of this one sided game.

^^^ The Republican Party is going to have to prove to me that they represent a "conservative" movement. So far, they haven't.

Sarah Palin is supporting McCain out of gratitude. Its only payback. I don't agree with her on this, as McCain is a Progressive. However, if you caught her speech in Searchlight, Nevada yesterday, you would have heard the true Palin. Once she got past the jitters and trying to hold her notes together in the wind, she started talking ad-lib, off the cuff. Once she let her hair down, I can tell you the woman was kick-ass. Free market and liberty talk all the way.

yes, i do believe it. it's america, that's kinda what we are about. being able to voice ones opinion, without persecution. it IS the history of our country. "social progress"? like "rock-n-roll". they deemed elvis an idiot. look where it got us.

Elvis stole the music of Black America and made a fortune with it. A fortune off of White teeny boppers, by the way.

Not saying Elvis wasn't great in his day, cuz he was. I've only been able to appreciate his talent in the last 20 years or so. Sorry to say, being pissed off over his theft blinded me to his talent.

it was the way he moved his hips that upset people. and he was only ONE man. which was kinda the point i was trying to make. you missed it though.

Not withstanding all the insults from the righties, the teabaggers are still a bunch of loons. They are every bit as vitriolic as any Bush haters ever were and then some. They are hateful, disrespectful, and just downright miserable "human" beings. It's alright to be pissed off at the government, I actually don't like it very much myself..But to depict Obama in a rascist manner, scream hate rhetoric at the whitehouse and congress, And just in general act like ignorant pukes really doesn't add much to the republican party. Although there hasn't been all that much reaction to their ignorant rhetoric in the press, Go figure, I'd wager there will be a huge backlash at the polls. I find it interesting that so many on RIU actually are in lockstep with them. Looks like the general average IQ is falling faster than a hard dick after viewing Ann Cuntler.

I think you've been blinded to a lot of cool stuff. Jazz is OK, I once was in the Jazz mode, But like everything, my mind could cherish much more music than just Jazz. I actually like most venues of music, from Rachmanikof to JZ. Elvis was the king, and to say he stole black music is just another lie. He improvised upon it, added his style and moved on. Every great musician had some influence in their lives from previous musicians, and unless they actually infringed on someones legal rights to the music "Copyright" etc, alls fair in the music world. The Beatles took from earlier American rockers and blues bands, rhythms and beats, Look what they turned it into, music that is now considered along side many classical musicians. To allude to the premis that Jazz is the only music is lame.

As individuals we all have what we believe in what we think is right & what we think is wrong. The teabaggers can bitch all they want but at the end of the day they are pretty much preaching to the choir. I don't see how all this ranting & raving will persuade enough people to join them.

These are people who didn't want Obama as president & they are just frustrated. I'm sure if it were a republican president the shoe would be on the other foot & all those teabaggers would praise their president for what he's trying to do & it would be the dems uproaring against it. It's never ending. This crap will go on forever.

When I first started voting my mother said, just make sure you vote democrat across the board. I never listened. I vote for who I want & for what one stands for. I may not like everything a person stands for but if I do find one thing about a person which is important to me. That's who I vote for.
