Ironically, the same people who are supporting him are the same ones who say Obama should not be president for the exact same reason. This only proves to me that so long as the politician is white, republicans have no problem with them.

Cruz was born in Canada to a mother who was a United States citizen and a Cuban father. There are many questions that will come from this issue. If he possesses Canadian citizenship he can not become president. The time his mother spent outside of the country could also deny him.

Regardless of the paperwork, Cruz is a Texas douche and nothing more. I am hoping he runs because he has about as much of a chance of beating Clinton as I do.

nobody can beat her. this ones in the bag already.

But I think he would be eligible. If his mom was a citizen he gets to be one as well.

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
and from the internet bible
The Constitution does not define the phrase natural-born citizen, and various opinions have been offered over time regarding its precise meaning. A 2011 Congressional Research Service report stated that
The weight of legal and historical authority indicates that the term "natural born" citizen would mean a person who is entitled to U.S. citizenship "by birth" or "at birth", either by being born "in" the United States and under its jurisdiction, even those born to alien parents; by being born abroad to U.S. citizen-parents; or by being born in other situations meeting legal requirements for U.S. citizenship "at birth". Such term, however, would not include a person who was not a U.S. citizen by birth or at birth, and who was thus born an "alien" required to go through the legal process of "naturalization" to become a U.S. citizen.[SUP][1]

There are also limitations on his mother even as a citizen. She must have spent X amount of time in the US before and after his birth or he becomes ineligible.

Going to love seeing Clinton run. She is as corrupt and inept as they come.
She will be torn to pieces in every debate.

The GOP candidate could have 4 eyes and 6 arms and be from Mars and the far right would still vote for him if he were white and said Jesus and God a few times.

where does it say that?

I do see
No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.
I suppose citizenship of another country would constitute on of those things. Doesnt canada have a queeen lol. regardless they are a foreign state. I dont speak old english well so not sure what was meant by Emolument, Office, or Title.

Ironically if I went public and said God told me to do this or that I would get locked up n a nuthouse for being delusional. The GOP does it and it is business as usual. This alone tells me that conservatism is truly a mental illness and shaped to manipulate the crazies.

It is covered under one of the naturalization acts. This was one of the reasons birthers were questioning Obama. It was clear his mother was a citizen but she had him at 18 and there was a question about the number of years she had spent in the US as a citizen.

Spoken like a true racist with his head about a foot up his own ass. Are you related to Sharpton or Jackson.

The law states this, “If only one parent was a US citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16." I do not know anything about his mother and her time in Canada but this is the same angle the birthers tried to use against the black guy. I guess it doesn't matter if you are a white redneck.
