Temp and c02 question....

Hello all... would like some advice from growers that use c02

So i have a nice c02 setup im about ready to set up... but i am curious about the temperatures... I see that c02 is best absorbed around 85*

My grow area sits right at 72-74 since i switched to LEDs, hard time keeping it warm.

In your opinion, should i even bother with c02 at this point or would it be a better idea to introduce something like HID lighting to increase the temp and then c02 enrich once i get the temps to 80-85* like they used to be

I just have no experience with c02 at lower temps and would like some advice or opinions

thanks greatly:mrgreen:

CO2 will still benefit the plants at lower temps. I run co2 and occasionally run low temps (with 600w hps) when the weather gets cold outside...like-10. Heating the house is too expensive, so I just let the temps drop a little.

co2 benefits alot of people by letting them have temps in the mid 80's. It is true that the plants will "run" faster with the temps in the 80's..but only if there is enough available light, co2, moisture in the soil and humidity in the 40 to 60 range (flower)

I'd suggest that you just run a small heater 15 min an hour or something if you want to bump the temps and the other "conditions" are right.

the first limiting factor when your plants are operating at a faster metabolism is co2, then light. That is why co2 users typically grow in warmer conditions. If your only at 72-74 I wouldn't waste money injecting more than 6-700 PPM's as they are not going to take advantage of it.
