My space is in an unfinished basement. I want to put up some kind of wall to close it in, but I don't want the wall to be permanent in case the basement is to be finished out at a later time. Any suggestions?

Make a mobile wall out of cheap plywood or sheetrock.

Wood or metal frame, roll of 4ml thick or thicker black plastic and one roll of gorilla duct tape.

Yes. Tape it to a frame. Tape the seams closed. For a door, overlap two sides of the plastic to block light. Since its temporary you could hang the plastic from the ceiling by itself.
Any frame you make can be light duty. Hell, you could make a frame out of pvc pipe. Electrical conduit. 1x1 boards...

I used 2x4s turned the skinny way to frame 1/4 of my room and then used a tarp as a temp wall
I was limited on space and a tarp is very easy to work with.
I pulled it tight and I'm very happy with the way it worked out

For a permanent and stealth room, you can use drywall, and vertically butt equal width sheets slightly apart. One or two panels are doors, but to casual viewers it looks like paneling. The doors use a touch latch system. Search YouTube for hidden door construction.

What do you use to connect the drywall pieces? The dry wall needs some sort of cross support right?

1/2 foam board will work too. It's light,easy to cut and handle.and duct tapes together nicely. Drywall is best over all tho.

A frame of 2x3 or 2x4. Sounds like this project is beyond your current construction skills, and it's the kind of thing you don't want just any general contractor to know about.

Yep. Used to wakeboard all summer. I have a wake boat. I'm 29 but my hips gave out on me 2 years ago and they're in pretty bad shape even after multiple surgeries so I'm trying to get back into it some day
