Temperature problems

I am struggling to keep my temps down and the humidity i have a digital ballast with a 450w and 600w setting my babies have been in flower for three weeks and are looking spot on. My question is do you think i could turn the ballast down to the 450w setting to control the heat and humidity issue?

what are your high temps? can you move the ballast out of the grow area? i would assume turning it down to 450w would help, i just don't know how much....maybe you could try and improve the venting? would be a shame to turn the lights down now....

84f sounds fine to me...i've had temps in the low 90's for short periods (hours) and it didn't visibly affect the girls....i've never checked my humidity but 66 sounds kinda high. my room is vented from and exhausted to the outside air and i change my lights on in summer to at night when it's cooler, too late now to adjust your timing but for future grows it's good practice. If you want to change your temp/humidity i would try everything else first before turning the light down.....like fans, do you have an air cooled hood? if you dont and can afford it they make a HUGE difference.

I don't have a cooled hood just an 8inch rvk fan hooked up to a carbon filter and an inline fan thats a relief about the temps thanks j2500 i will grab a cooled hood for the next project. This is only my second grow and living in Scotland we don't usually get these kind of temps lol.

right on then, even if you dont get high temps like this often having the hood is a bonus because you can get your light closer to the girls and they love that
and stick around here, there are lots of other growers here who can help you improve your grow.
