Tempurature HELP please

Ive been told the temp should be between 70-80 degrees and drop no lower than 15 degrees under its light temp when its dark.

Is this ambiant room temp or canopy temp?

Sometime his canopy goes up to 90 right under the light but the room never exceeds 80 he has thermometers everywhere lol.

He runs an air cooled 1000w HPS right now and its about 14 in. away from the plants with a glass cover on the hood.

Standard rule of thumb is if it feels hot to you its hot to the plant, and it actually feels real comfortable where its at. He can actually put his hand about 4 inches away before prolonged heat (2 min.) makes him want to move it.

Should he worry about the canopy hitting 90 or ignore it since the room temp is fine?

If you need to remove your hands after only two minutes, that's too hot...
Your plants live there 24 hrs, imagine how they feel.

I've heard the temperature during the night can be really cool, but during the day it should never be more than 75F.

Good Luck,

Tuanis...

Its not too hot at 14 inches, 4-6 inches is the discomfort distance.

The room is 80 degrees right now, my canopy under the light is at 90 but feels comfortable to the touch.
