I was curious if anyone here felt like testing ec and ppm were vital, and how so in comparison to simply testing PH?
If your growing Hydro, It's a MUST. Get the best pH meter you can afford. And recalibrate it often. The ppm/ec keep you from causing an over dose.I was curious if anyone here felt like testing ec and ppm were vital, and how so in comparison to simply testing PH?
What type of grow? DWC is a good option for a first Hydro. http://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/hydroponic-growing-schedule/I have only grown in soil so far, but the plan was to definitely make the switch after my current grow. Thanks for the information.
I'll definitely be investing in one then. Thank you for the insight.Knowing PH & EC allows you to dial in and take the guess work out of feeding.
Think about baking a cake, you can certainly eyeball your ingredients and get close to your desired measurements. More often then not you'll bake a pretty good cake. But using exact measurements allows you to make specific changes and "dial in".
Eyeballing will only get you so far. IMO a solid PH pen & TDS meter are worth the ~ $50 - $100 investment.
