Texas Growers Unite!

Lol, are you even from Texas? It doesn't matter if you are or arent its my favorite thread..

:weed:
So why are you leaving them in the dark before flowering? What is your reasoning behind this? I missed the word maybe but you missed my entire last sentence so here it is again:

"How would the plants being in the dark make them sexually mature in a day?"

A plant put in darkness for 24-36 hours will stretch more than a plant of the same strain and mother put right into 12/12 lighting from 18/6 or 24/0
So your theory is that putting plants into darkness will speed up their sexual maturation?

My order I just placed..

GH Base Ph Up (Dry)
See "options" to choose acid/base and size:

For plants to be able to grow best it is important that the nutrient pH be slightly acidic - the range of 5.5 to 6.5 is considered ideal for most crops.

Our nutrients are buffered as to not require major adjustments. There are some important exceptions, when poor quality water is used to mix nutrient solution, when pH unstable media is used such as many rockwool and gravel products and when plant growth rates are so high that the nutrient mix is thrown off due to rapid nutrient absorption by the crop.

Care to explain....?
NP, like I've said in dozens of other threads:

They are complete and cheap.

There is none of the 3 part cheesey gimmictry, silly labels or product names, and no hype. For instance, let's break down the fine print:

Our nutrients are buffered as to not require major adjustments.

Sounds wonderful. Now, what does that really mean? Can I see the CaCO2 equivalents please. Are they printed on the label?

"There are some important exceptions, when poor quality water is used to mix nutrient solution, when pH unstable media is used such as many rockwool and gravel products......"

Oh, so rockwool and gravel, both inert products, throw off pH? Hmmmmmm.......

ive been there several times! great ppl and everything u need for indoor growing (that you cant get at home depot):weed:
Aww HELL no! Sorry people but God I was hoping you didn't buy all that shit from TX Hydroponics MOG, they truly suck ass. Overpriced, NO selection, myself AND my friends have got burnt there in the past, and there's just a 'shady' feeling about their stores. I've been to both locations repeatedly in Austin. They. Suck. Balls.

However, all is not lost friends! Get your supplies from Brite Ideas on Industry Lane right off of S. Congress Ave and 290. You WILL be MUCH happier that you did. They warranty their sales for the entire warranty period AND do the legwork for you if there's a problem. You simply drop off the old item with the receipt and they ship away for you and simply give you a free brand-new replacement on the spot for you to leave with. This is worth going to BI alone!

BI's selection is WAY bigger than both TX Hydro stores combined and they have WAY better prices and treat you WAY better too. Sorry to hate on TX Hydro, but those who know go to Brite Ideas! FYI - Troy is the owner and I would say John is the most knowledgeable after Troy.

And the proof is in the pudding...NO STRETCH per Shack using the 'blackout' method. I guess the blackout period is still up in the air as far as whether or not it helps to induce flowering, but at least we know now that it doesn't have any substantial effect on stretch like Tom420 was saying.

Thanks for the info Shack!

i've been to BI many times. ALL of my equipment has come from there.
i've just checked their website and been in the store and haven't seen the filter i'm after.
TX Hydro has it... not much I can do. don't have the time to wait and mail order, odor needs to get under control.
i did notice their prices, same equipment but bigger price tag at TX Hydro.
although, they have a gag about LED lighting on TX Hydro's webpage, basically debunking it. i like that.
i've always thought LED's were more gimmick than anything else.
BI's lack of honesty on the subject agitates me.
long story short, i'm going to TX because they have what i need

about my plants, one has started to stretch. but that's expected as you force flower. also it's the more sativa dominant of the two, so doubly expected.

Yeah I feel ya on them having it now and you not being able to wait. I got mine from BI, but yeah I had to order it and I think it took a week. If you go into BI enough you'll start getting a blanket 15% discount off ANYTHING you buy there ever, so that equates to better prices too. And TX Hydro's complete lack of any warranty process is almost appalling. FYI - I had to exchange the first Deau-Passe filter I that got, so you might want to check it REALLY CLOSE if buying it from TX Hydro cause once you pay for it there it's yours for life, problems and all.

As far as the LED debunk on their website, I'm sure that's there because the owner of TX Hydro (Tom I think it is) 'invented' a water-cooled HID system that he's trying to push, so the LED propaganda is there to direct sales over to his product. Yeah LEDS suck, but from a business perspective (especially one that won't take returns) they shouldn't really care what you buy cause they're getting their margin on everything anyway.

Oh, and I liked Tom's 'Liquid Lumens' better the first time I saw it....as the 'Fresca Sol' for way less money and the Fresca can be used with multiple hoods unlike the Liquid Lumens.

i saw a grow with a 90 watt ufo it looked good , but i dont think i compares to the 400 mh hps

u can grow more plants with the 400 and it covers more space due to the distance away
