Spacedawg #3... day 58.... This one hermed on me right @ week 4 and I really wish it didnt, but I really thought this one wasnt going to fill in at all and just be larfy fluff weed, but I have my garden set up so one day a week I dont have to go in which was 2 days ago, and in that 1 day I wasnt there this one put on some serious weight and filled in a lot, it was beginning to look like it was going to be a waste of space aside from being able to turn it into hash/tincture/butter but I was super surprised to see how much it filled in within the span of maybe 36 hours...... I really wish I had another go at this one but a week 4 herm had to be culled, its clones anyhow.... I plucked the nanners on this one, not sure if that was a smart move or not but I'll be finding out soon enough

Cheese quake #1 @ 30 days..... I'm assuming this is the more sativa dom. one that sub warns everyone about using to much supersoil with.... This one is a picky one but we shall see if its worth another go, so far it looks it and because its been such a bitch I've neglected it a little because I thought it was definitely going to herm on me but it hasnt so far... I took cuts of it and we'll see how it goes... I think if it makes it through without herming on me I may try planting her in an amended soil-less mix and do the compost tea route rather than SS or maybe a little a both.

So far the only thing I think I havent done right is timed it for proper fading.... but its my first time with these strains and my first time with supersoil as well as using 5 gallon pots rather than 7 so I'm learning but one thing I do know is I like how these strains are turning out... So far aside from not knowing what the smoke/high is like yet, they are all basically keepers aside from the few that hermed on me but thats just part of the selection game I'm finding.

My Chernobyl is one day 44 and not really putting on the weight yet but she's very frosty. I posted here already and wasn't going to until she's was almost all the way donw but then I found this and thought I would share it with everyone in the thread and get your guys opinion cause I'm new and have no idea lol. Looks like a calax or however you spell it with pistils coming from it. Never seen this before......anyone know or seen this before? She's a very healthy plant just has had some leaf anomollies throughtthe grow. Oh and she smells like a bowl of shebert icecream! Here's one of her tops up close through some Method 7's as well....

What if you're a grower that doesnt have the time - and mostly space - to pull out the hermies? I mean i dont have many harvest a year and i think a few plants of mines have naners...
Is the smartest thing to do to pull those away or is it manageable - through cautious "naner pulling" - to hold them in my tent without having them spreading their pollen?

Thanks guys and happy new year Nerds!

if you don't have time to pull some nanners you don't have time to do proper growing... checking your plants is part of the process.

the problem with the nanners isn't the ones you see, it's the ones you don't :) ok well it's both, but kinda hard to pull'em if you can't see'em

If you don't pull the ones with nanners you are gonna end up pollinating everything in the whole room....it has happened to me before on a hermie qrazy train.

So what yuo're saying if i'm dedicated enough i can manage the nanner problem? (I'm not blaming the genetic, had to spread some chemicals on my babies to kills thrips , i think that what caused the pb...)

Have a dank day!

So I did some digging and I found this: https://www.rollitup.org/seed-strain-reviews/543083-tga-strains-stable.html

It's 50+ pages of people that have had hermie issues with virtually every single TGA strain. I understand that there are a couple just general dickheads in there but some people just put it very objectively. Some say they have never seen a hermie issue like they did with TGA. I was under the understanding that a good strain had a bit of stability to it. You can't blame every single issue ever on the grower. Some hermied without stress. I just feel that if I'm paying top dollar for a product I should be getting a top dollar product. Finicky, herm prone strains should not be pushed as the dankest of dank unless they can make it through a grow without turnin all shemale on everyone. I'm very disappointing with the TGA name. They do have some rare gems in there but should rare gems be sold with a pack of duds at the price of a pack of gems, ya dig? This was an extreme disappointment to read. I had faith in TGA to at least be what it sold itself as. I'm not calling anyone to arms and I'm not even swearing to never touch TGA again (well, actually I am but you can do what you want) I'm just saying that either the price should be lowered or the product should be improved upon. Instead of just turning out as many strains as possible how about some back crosses and some f2 or even f3 products to come down the line. For instance find the golden ticket and breed it with what you would assume would be a golden ticket male and then BAM you have a more predictable strain and hopefully have bred all of the herm issues out of it for the most part. I think that sub is breeding for evolutionary advancement which in the plant the world that means the plants have both sexes so they can pass on their genetics.

their about as stable as a phillipino hooker

Dabumps, you spew nonsense far too much. TGA isnt any more prone to hermies than anyone else. Space Dude is a stable & proven male (along w/ the other males TGA uses). Hermie traits are housed usually in the mother (selected clones) if anything. These exact clones are used for breeding w/ many other seed companies. I have popped over 60 TGA seeds this year alone and not one showed early hermaphroditic traits.

Give me a sealed environment w/ stable conditions 24/7 and I will show you the same 60/60 ratio I get here on the farm. The rare occasions one does find a hermie, you should be able to take care of it w/o flipping you lid.

Too many people bitching about growing instead reading a book and doing things correctly.

stop bitching and get to growing....

Dude just about every seed bank I've tried has had some sort of hermie issue at one point in their life....DNA, TGA, Barneys, GHS, Cali connection......I've only once had a 100% female plant from DNA...multiple times have I had a "feminized" seed turn out to be a male from DNA, GHS and Cali connection. TGA is just as cheap as Nirvana seeds at 10 dollars per seed, yet much better quality. Since when was 50 bucks for a 5 pack of seeds asking too much?? Sensi, Soma, Serious, and half of these up and coming California and Colorado seed companies.....look at their outrageous prices...20-30 dollars PER seed???

Right. I guess I wouldn't have considered what I did as "spewing nonsense". More of expressing concern. But I figure belittling and name calling is how you get your point across. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree (sub is the tree). Geek, isn't Tga in your pocket? You sir are a GREAT grower and I would never attemt to take away from that. But what I don't have to take away from some people is their character, they give that up for free. I also do understand that people bitch for no reason which is why I've just popped 5 jb. They way the story is told of them they are amazing and I damn we'll want in on the amazing. So before I say that "based on my experience" blah blah ill give it a shot. But you can't disregard everything anyone has to say. If I told you the car you were gonna buy that 85% of people that drove it said the wheels fell off you cant assume that they all didn't tighten their lug nuts.
