THC sauce "

So someone told me they have this stuff dubd "sauce" which is essentially THC crystals in terpens...my first thought is wouldnt the thc dissolve in the terps of surrounded by that much of what is essentially a solvent? So my first thought is that the crystals are thc acetate,or somthing of the like...anyone who can shed some light here ? (I'm lookin at you FD)

interesting.did you see it? do you dab it? ive heard thc acetate isnt something youd really want to smoke,edibles with it would be a better option apparently.

No I didn't I was invited to come try it but had other shit to do, maybe some other time but I did get sent a pic of it I'll
My whole thing is if it's just super pure crystalline thc then it should dissolve

More likely THC-a crystals. THC-O-A (acetate) is not a carboxylic acid.

The "sauce tech" separates most of the cannabinoids from the terpenes. In this process, thca crystallizes. If done right they can achieve large diffraction crystals. I've mostly heard the two parts referred to as HCE (high cannabinoid extract) and HTE (high terpene extract). They usually add some of the terps back with cannabinoid extract to achieve the desired sauce consistency.

But even if it's crystallized why doesn't it dissolve In the terps which is essentially a solvent ?

As the solvents leave, the crystals precipitate out. If you added more solvent, they should dissolve again.

Because the solution is already supersaturated. As fadedawg suggests, if more solvent was added, they would dissolve.

Ok if it were super saturated then wouldnt it be more viscous (or less viscous, thicker is what I'm trying to say )

Like I'm thinkin say you take some shatter that's been dewaxed and slowly add terpens drop by drop your saying it will dissolve into the shatter and as you add more n more terpens the thc will eventually percipetate out ? It would go from shatter to sap to a terpene goo with solid thc in it ?

Super saturated means a compound has reached its maximum point of dilution and can no longer be dissolved in the specific solvent. In this case the THCA has dissolved into the terpenes to the maximum point, which causes the rest of the unactivated THC to precipitate over time.

I understand that,,,but it always seemed like the terps can hold enough thc to the point it becomes a goo before you have free floating shit in it
