Yea the roots take O2 and the leafs take CO2 get that tube outta there....

If your area is pretty air tight the CO2 will naturally "diffuse" with the rest of the air and mix in by itself.... so just put it next to the plants

how much do u think u'd get with the current setup (fluorescent only)? per plant?

how much more (per plant) would u get if flowering with HPS?

thanks in advance.

1) HPS = high pressure sodium bulb

2) I have to disagree with Tek on the co2...have a look at this link...

[The Krib] CO2 & Water Hardness

Slightly different situation, but applicable all the same. The article is about water plants. But, growing this in the aero makes it defacto water plant in my book (a non-water plant would just die - unable to live in the aero).

It's the whole PLANT that takes in CO2, not just the leaves or the roots. Normally, the roots are under ground and the flowers are not. Obviously the flowers would be taking in more CO2 since they are more exposed. With the aero, the water gets oxygenated and feeds the roots. There is no reason the plants can not get CO2 through the same process. I may be wrong...but you'll have to show me in print before I believe ya... :)

Sticking to my belief that plants can get CO2 through the roots, I am looking at a bell type set up. That is, the CO2 gets trapped in a submerged bell shaped object (which captures all the CO2). Any CO2 trapped gets absorbed into the water, thus supplying most of the CO2 I generate to the plant (and not losing it to the air).

The basics to growing any plant are all the same.

i am reluctant to post pics, because my plant isnt looking the best and thats my fault, but its doing really well. a lot of the leafs are burt from nutes and heat, but i have like 6 colas that are developing in adition to the main one. they are small, but they are right up at the top so they get maximum light, and thet are gonna be good for a few grams a piece. besides that, i have moved one of my plants to the top shelf and am using it for a mother. i took my first clone today, and everything is going well. lots of humidity, and i have sprayed it 2 times today. any advice for anything you could think of would be great...my plant is in its second week of flowering

Yes the time is here...its been upon me for the past week or two...

Thats when the first drips of this "Green Gold" , "Teknique Tea" started and now its about to pour...

I first started you could say "harvesting" a couple weeks ago, by picking a lot of the lower branches on both plants, even tho there werent any red hairs if any, but plently of white hairs.....As I said in a earlier post, I also did this to provide the upper branches with the energy the lower branches were "sucking" away from the top....

I dried them for over a week and smoked when they were dry enough and it produced a very mild "head" high....could of even been the nutes that were probobly still in it...lol...but it was still enjoyable and I savored it...

Now today is the good shit! This enclosed pic is pretty much the entire plant of the little plant that I had minus some I smoked before I took the pic....

When I took the first hit of this stuff I was with my brother and I felt a sudden rush of tingles in my head and brain. I then turned my head slowly to him and in the voice of Borat, said "It's a Niiiiiiceee!"

It has a mild taste and not a too strong smell, but gives a nice head high...

I'm going to start picking some of the lower branches of the only plant thats left soon(the really big one its about four feet now!)...and I should get at least triple of what you see in this pic probobly 4x more...

Tell me what you think!

Peace

First off in regard to skunks last question.....

Well, that plant was very little, I cant say for sure of the total yield....

I just got a digi scale today, need batterys tho....

If I had to guess total yield for that tiny plant was 7

This other plant should triple that....

Heres some pics of 6 buds I just picked....the first shot is before I manicured it and the second is after...

that looks like some good weed, but it seems kinda small in comparison to some harvests i have seen with stronger lights? are those off the big one?

Right, the main reason theyre so small is because of the lighting....only two CFLs overhead.....

I'd like to emulate Vandewalles method where he has attached another CFL on each side....

Each of those 6 buds will probobly end up .5 each so in that pic 3 total....those buds are just from the bottom of the BIG one....there is still about 30 more buds about that size to pick once theyre ready....

But I mean I've expected a small amount this first grow ever and first grow ever in this machine....

The smoke is fnatastic so far....I just smoked the cola of the plant in the pic a couple posts before and got me ripped!

It's real...

hey tek,

congrats on getting this to work; i just read thru your experiences - not bad for using it completely stock out-of-the-box plug-n-play style... i can only hope i am as lucky with my setup... is there anything you noticed about those sponges (the grow medium) that i should keep in mind? how long before the roots develop properly thru that sponge and hang down into my reservior?

also what settings did you use for the water pump action thing -- i got mine set to strawberries (24hours constant pumping) should i just hook it up to an external timer and have the pump do like... hour on hour off ? or will it dry out my roots? i already had one young seedling die (2 or 3 days - i'm guessing either from drying out, inadvertently pinching the taproot, or just weak DNA)
and am trying to not have any more casualties (unless they're male of course)
