The Afghan Project

In the early part of this year I had a friend return from serving in Afghanistan. He gifted me several seeds he picked up while he was there.

I grew outside in the late seventies and early eighties. In 84 I got out of growing altogether. Last year I jumped back in with both feet. My ultimate goal is to become a world class breeder. It's a big goal but as long as I eat the elephant one bite at a time I should be ok.

I am going to cross the Afghan seeds with several strains I have and with themselves. From there I will make different crosses with different phenos, all the while learning and searching for the holy grail. My ultimate goal is to learn how to breed plants for certain disease and pest resistant traits.

This grow will be a "proof of concept" to get my feet wet with crossing and breeding. Please fell free to offer all the advice you want, it is welcome.

Light - T5

Grow media - Soil

Nutes - If I use any it will be GH 3 part as I've had great success with these nutes.

5. BC God Bud - clone

Looks like you are on your way. I took a 15 yr break and like you back at it but it is way different now the in the 80's. I can grow in the open it is great not to have to hide my plants and the strains today unreal. In the early 80's we had a strain over here that was African crossed with Afghan that was amazing big buds and little rot. Looking forward to see what you come up with. Aloha

Thanks for looking bra. I cut my "growing teeth" in the Islands. I used to live in Mokuleia in the late seventies, early eighties. I know all about growing over there, that's for sure. I still remember my first encounter with camp. Don't know how it is now, but back then they would just cut your shit and move on. They would only fuck with you if you fucked with them first. So glad to live in a legal state now.

Now we have medical license so we can have 7 that is great. Some day you'll have to breed something for the islands. I was born windward Oahu now live Puna Aloha

Four landrace Afghan plants at aprox 2 months from seed. The lights will be flipped to 12/12 at the first of the month and the seed quest will be on.

subbed..how many seeds did your buddy hook you up with? you going to flower with the T5's?
Never counted them, probably about 50 seeds. While I'd normally flower under my 1kw hps, since I'm not really in need of smoke I am going to just use the T5 to flower. I may use my 1kw at some point though if it starts looking like I am not getting the results I want, which is an ass load of seeds.

WOW!!! Great find. I cant make my own for that!! How big is the bag? (Cu/Ft of soil or gal?) With all those ingredients (Sans bat guano, substitute Bunny Poo), I have about $35 in a 3 cu/ft bag of soil.
